It makes no sense to have a seperate ME3 character board when there was already a comprehensive Mass Effect Character board. It just makes things more disorganized.
I can understand seperate ME3 boards for news, technical support, strategy, walkthroughs, etc. But character discussion is not episode dependant. This is true for all the general Mass Effect universe stuff. If one started a thread about the Citadel, which episode would it belong under? Answer: none of them because there shouldn't be episode specific boards for stuff that spans all episodes.
It's making these boards more complicated than they need to be and causing a lot of redundant threads. Someone needs to merge the Character boards into a single ME character board.
Character threads should NOT be divided by episode.

You should probably (politely) PM your suggestions to Chris Priestly.
I personally think having an ME3 Character discussion board makes sense, in order to spare those who want to talk about characters without ME3 spoilers...they can stick to the the ME1 & 2 threads, while those who want to chat about every bit of new information have a place to go.

It also helps in navigating. Now all ME3-related talks are concentrated in relatively small threads. BTW it is the main purpose of closing threads - not allowing them to grow too much. I honestly would give up searching info in any LI threads if they weren't ever closed (the longest support thread I've seen was about 5k pages long and this was 6th version or so)

Looks like the first rule of the internet is true:
People will LITERALLY complain about everything.

The problem with that is that some people want a place to find specific news relating to a character, but some of the character-specific threads are filled with people who don't want spoilers.

All valid points that I agree with (except Arcian), but I'm noticing that some ME1&2 character support threads are migrating to to the ME3 boards exclusively, which means there still ends up being only one thread, which nullifies the "it's better to have 2 threads" explanation.

And here I was clicking on this thread thinking it would be about the relative effectiveness of characterization through loyalty missions or as a more diffuse thread running through a less modular story.

And that's good! Or Ashley's new look would cause drowning of board for several days

Don't worry about it so much. The only reason for it seems to be avoidance of spoilers. We are sure to get new ME2 players when ME3 comes out, and they won't want to have ME3 spoiled for them. Think more about the other players and maybe it won't annoy you as much.
