Looking forward to this as Dark Knight was one of my favorite comic book movies. And, I dislike comic books.

I must be the only person who had no trouble whatsoever understanding Bane... Then again I never had trouble understanding Bale's Batman.
Most of the time what he says is understandable, but it's true that there are moments that you have to rewatch just to comprehend what he's saying. I'm talking about the first two movies of course.
Anywho, I wonder if Nolan is trying to give the movie a type of grey morality to it. In one the scenes, Anne Hathaway says, "You're all going to wonder how you thought you could live so large and yet leave so little for the reast of us" or something along those lines. Perhaps Wayne isn't the main reason for Gotham's problems, but he could be apart of it.
Judging from the trailer, they're definitely taking the ambigious morality bit a step further than The Dark Knight.
-The national anthem right at the beginining...I love it.
-America's most popular sport sunk in a crater for thousands to see.
-The sacking of a mansion - rise up you plebs and take down the rich!
-Bane seems less the terrorist than Joker was, and more of a revolutionary.
-It's all punctuated by Hathaway's line, which is painfully relavent given the currrent economic/social crises in the States. Suddenly I can see the direction they will take with Catwoman, and it how it ties in with her character from the comic books.

Supposedly, Bane's mask in this film delivers an anesthetic gas to him due to intense pain from a prior injury. So it looks like Nolan cut Venom out of the story completely.
Seriously? So Bane's gonna wear that funny mask through the entire movie? Fair enough. I have no problem with his voice. I think it's awesome. Overall, he looks cool so far.

One more thing I noticed: The 'storm coming' comment by Catwoman is exactly the line Batman used when talking to commissioner Gordon in Batman Begins.

Also, acting with that thing on would be tricky.
So true... the Comment makes me think of what a great job Hogo Weaving did as V in "V for Vendetta"...I don't think the two ctors can fairly be compared, I pretty much think Weaving is a Genius, but it will be interesting to see if Hardy can deliver a good performance through the mask...
I'm expecting to see a lot of tight shots of Bane's eyes.

Well, I would imagine that there will be a part near the end, perhaps during the climax, where Bane will be fighting Batman and Batman, or perhaps some other character who is aiding Batman, will rip Bane's mask off. This will, of course, allow Batman to get the upper hand and defeat Bane.

Bruce Wayne is slowly losing his mind, and that's what Alfred is referring to: he hasn't protected Bruce from his obsession - in fact he's helped him. The cane is a prop. Bruce is physically fit and busts skulls on a nightly basis.
Catwoman is from poor beginnings, perhaps even a prostitute. She gets a hold of Wayne tech through bane, and starts assuming her role as a ruthless and clever thief. She's opposed to Batman on a philosophical level, but doesn't outright confront him. She's no match for him anyway.
Bane is a calculated and intelligent revolutionary intent on gathering an army and razing Gotham to the ground. his mask provides a powerful anesthetic which allows him to fight through inhuman pain, making him Batman's equal, physically.

Yeah, that sounds pretty likely. Though I'll add that there is a good chance that Catwoman will see Bane "go too far" and realize he must be stopped and aid Batman in the climax.

I wish I could savely assume you knew this tiresome typo puts a 180 on your intended meaning (even if the chosen preposition and basic logic make up enough of a counterargument to it to know what you mean), but overwhelming evidence strongly points against it, so I feel the need to stress: "part"/"a part"/"one part" IS NOT EQUAL TO "apart". Hell, the initial A's in "a part" and "apart" aren't even remotely related.Capt. Obvious wrote...

And considering the fact that they've also been filming on Wall Street, I think Nolan is definitely taking an inspiration from current events and applying it to his storyline. The root of Gotham's problem could be the wealthy getting wealthier at the expense of the common people or something along those lines.

That is a pretty cool set of ideas...I think you may have come close to outlining what we'll be seeing...
I was thinking the same thing about Bane. A lack of ability to feel pain would be a nice way of converting his use of Venom in the Comics to put him on that equal footing with Batman.

That's Joseph Gordon-Levitt. You might remember him from Inception where he played Arthur. In The Dark Knight Rises, he plays a police officer called John Blake, and is a non-canon creation brought in especially for this movie. Not much is known of his role though.
