I wanted the option to kill Merril, but the devs decided otherwise.

It would be cool if Hawke died this way:

"Hawke: Don't worry, we'll be safe in here!! There may be thousands of them, but Genlocks are far too tall to get through that small space!

Hawke: Wait.. how?!...*DEATH*"

Morrigan, always and forever. I like her well enough, but the sheer amount of fanboy tears that would generate would probably keep the Writer's Pit alive for a century.

at some point in the series, i think it would be kind of cool if Ohgren sacrificed himself somehow. Maybe killing the Archdemon, I don't know.

Ohgren's one of my favorite characters He can be brutish and gross, but if you dig a little bit, he's actually pretty deep. I don't want to see him die, but i think that if he gave his life to save the world, that would probably be a really powerful scene.

If they killed off Sandel it would be a sad day indeed. He's probably the greatest character in the whole DA world. Still hoping they bring him in as a companion for DA3. That dwarf is legendary.

Would love to see Oghren have a noble legendary death in DA3 or upcoming dlc. A favorite character of mine too.

Well, I killed the two whom I thought needed to die for their crimes, so I don't feel any particular need for anyone to die. Admittedly, I ended the game not thinking much of Isabella, but the main character in DA3 likely won't be Hake, so that's kind of beside the point.

I'd much rather nobody die until BioWare can figure out how to make death a meaningful event with actual significant consequences. Obviously not every death need be some massive event, but if you're going to give the player the choice to, say, kill Leliana and loot her corpse with no one else in camp so much as batting an eye, and then resurrect her with no explanation given anyway, thats a problem.

If you're going to give the option to kill somebody, they should either stay dead and have the story change in some significant way (for companion deaths at least) and react to that death or if you're going to resurrect them, don't handwave it away but have their miraculous recovery actually acknowledged as such in game with people appropriately reacting as such- think of a certain character in A Song of Ice and Fire; resurrection happens, but its not glossed over and takes a toll. It has consequence.

Actually, I thought Sandal became kinda creepy and annoying in DA2, so wouldn't mind a cruel and painful death for him.

He was kinda funny, and a charming character in DAO.  In DA2 the joke was spread way too thin and forced, and they changed his look to something a little creepy.  So yeah, he can die horribly too.

I wish I could murderknife Merril in a cutscene. I miss the murderknife, you can only use it twice in the whole game (well 3 if you count Anders) plus I hate Merril's selfish retarded bimbo "gigglesquee" self.

How can you not count Anders? He deserves so much more than a murder knife, if only there was an option for unspeakable cruelties.

I don't count him because it goes along with the main plot and is and too obvious. Some of your party members are telling you to do it and he totally deserves it. (not that I don't kill him at that point) I like being able to murderknife people for little to no reason...like brother Genitivi or Lloyd :D

Agreed Sandal is annoying now.  They added the enchantment apparatus for me to use but he STILL has to say something.  Seriously overdone.  No need to kill him tho.

OP, I agree with all of your suggestions. Hawke is obnoxious, Merril is just plain irritating and childlike, and Fenris just won't shut the hell up about mages (hurdurhur funny thing is you won't shut up about DA2 either alex, hurhurhur). I actually hate the cast of companions for DA2, the only cool ones really are Aveline, Varric and ... Sebastian.

Hawke is only obnoxious if you play them that way

I really wish they'd have let you kill Isabella after  the **** in Act 2 went down.

1. Hawke:- I like you Hawke, but you're an ass. Mainly because I make you an ass but that's only because the other options were, On the Rag Schizo or Pass Aggressive hippy.

2. Leliana, mainly as I'm sick of her accusing my warden of cheating on her every play through. Yes I pick the correct dialogue options, an relationship shouldn't have been created at all.

3. Anora, why is this woman still alive? You would think there would be an option for the warden to "end her"

Flemeth.

Kind of worried Dragon Age will end up following her in every game, I'd rather the only element connecting every game be the setting. Also I just don't like characters who apparently can't die. I consider it a challenge.

If Origins taught bioware anything it was that killing off main charecters was a really stupid idea, one of the few things bioware remembered when making DA2, doubt anyone major will ever die again outside major plot points

Killing off major characters is no real issue (were Leliana or Anders really that major?), the stupid idea was to try and shoe-horn them back in for no apparent reason.

WOW...couldn't agree more, flesh her out and get on with it OR let's get rid of her once and for all
and for me Leliana, tired of her BIG time
