Hi folks, just want to join the discussion on Mass Effect. I am just finishing me second runthrough before I start ME2 and cannot say how much I love this game. Sure it has its glitches, that I am sure have been talked about before on the boards (long elevator rides, sometimes the dialog takes too long, etc.) but overall it is way cool. The first time through I was playing as a soldier and it took me halfway through the game before I fully grasped the concept of upgrades and using other squad members' abilities.
The second time through I'm playing as a Vangard and finding that a lot more fun what with the biotics and all. Looking forwad to ME2, will probably start it this weekend.
The scary thing about playing ME1, though, is getting so wrapped up in the play and storyline that before I knew it, it was 2 a.m. on a work night - yep, 3 1/2 hours of sleep - not much fun the next day.

Watch out when you play ME2, it's a massive change.
A lot of lore-sacriledge and you have to take cover all the time (unless you become awesome at it or always play Casual).
ME2 is far more exciting and varied in combat, though. Can't deny that. There are so many ways to set up your Shep for a completely different experience beyond what's in ME1.

Glad you're enjoying it! Personally, I've played it through four times and I know I'll do another someday. Also, I guess I am kind of weird in that I liked just about everything about it--Mako, elevators, and all
That game is one of my obsessions.
And yeah, I know all too well the sleep thing --____--
And agree that ME2 is a BIG change in a lot of ways, but I also enjoyed that immensely and it's a nice long game.

Early this year I got a new XBox 360 and played through ME1 about 4 times in row to unlock all of the achievements/abilities. Loads of fun - even the Mako missions which I am honestly not sure why I like.
