 FIrst, the name "Conductor" is pretty lame, unless it has something to do with the mysterious "song" that darkspawn hear, lyrium supposedly makes, and the idol gave off.

I'm guessing this 2k year old derpspawn has the ability to manipulate/direct/conduct the song. He's probably not the source, because he would be the Composer, but if Bioware is going to give a big evil villain a goofy name like the Conductor it's really only because it has signifigance to the one major idea running through the games.

Thoughts? You know I'm right.
