Hi. Until some time ago i had windows vista installed on my pc. I had installed Mass Effect and it ran great. But some time ago i decided to upgrade to windows 7 and now the game no longer works, the launcher pops up i select play game and the "flag" of the game appears, but after that the game goes to black screen and i can only see the cursor. I've tried running the game in compatibility mode for windows xp and vista but nothing changes, i've re-installed the game many times but the problem doesn't go away. I've looked all over the internet and tried most of the solutions i've found but nothing works. Please help me out.

Aplpy the 1.02 patch. If that doesnt work, post a full error report asd detailed in the "How to" thread stickied at the top of the forum.

You did mention you have uninstalled and reinstalled it numerous times. I would definitely make sure there are no residual files left in the registry by following the instructions for manually uninstalling Mass Effect in this FAQ: http://support.ea.co...etail/a_id/2133
Note: The final steps involve editing your registry. You MUST follow the instructions to the letter as removing the wrong registry key can corrupt your operating system causing a critical system failure.
Once you have completely removed the game from the system, please reboot and reinstall the game. As you are running Windows 7, I would recommend disabling the User Account Control (here's the FAQ to walk you through: http://support.ea.co...detail/a_id/380 ) and also try running the game in Windows XP SP3 mode.
