Anyway if you save the council or not you will still have a way to get good ending in ME3. I think there should be 2 playthroughs ready for ME3 import just to see the two outcomes.

I don't know why, but I can never quite bring myself to justify killing them, I always save them.

what will other races think?

the counsel might be ... let's say ignorant and rude ... but they're a known quantity and they could be worse, and the symbolism - both of saving them and of there position - is important to all of the other races

Just like Shepard, the Council members are more than just people, they are symbols. Humanity saving them rightfully earns our place among the galaxy, showing that we don't just brashly thrust aside any resistance to get we want. We will stand together as allies, not rivals.

Like many i played through most of ME1 as a Paragon yet in the end i sacrificed the Council because destorying Sovereign was the #1 priority on my mind. If the Council didn't want to get blown up then they shouldn't have been so quick to dismiss the existence of the Reapers.

I really don't understand why letting the Council die always has to be a Renegade action and why that makes me a humanist.

No, it's not dumb. Just because the council are a bunch of ****s towards Shepard regarding the reapers does not mean they deserve to die. MAYBE other people ARE happy with the current council. 

For example, if you couldn't get a long with Obama, and Obama was in danger, you could let Obama die. That would make some of the McCain voters happy, but all the Obama voters would be sad, angry, confused, in shock, panic, distress. Heck, I dare say that even some McCain voters would be in panic and confused.

So while I understand the people who think it's best to let the council die, I think letting them die because they where a-holes towards you is not a valid reason.

I have a better example.

I saw the Salarian counciler talking with Shepard onboard a ship in one of the E3 trailers. I think we'll get to meet who ever the council is.

they refuse to see you. the old counsil at least offers to reinstate you. even if it's symbolic it's something
everyone won't be dead - Sovereign doesn't have control of the Citadel and Saren can't give it to him anymore
it's a dreadnought. it's almost always a good tactical asset.the exception being 'knife fights'

Bush doesn't lead a country anymore, and even with a current president, we have a clear cut chain of command so it's less of a blow to us than it is in Mass Effect where they have to hold elections (and we all know how those can be)

please note, i'm not saying it's right to leave bush or obama to die, to do that i'd need more information

The point is, should the politicians face the consequences of their incopetency, or should some poor human soldiers face it for them?

I didn't "let the council die", I tried to prevent them. I just focused on the biggest threat.
I didn't mean to make a human-centric council.
