UPDATE: Nov 21, 2009

You can kill wynne if you want and you can kill the blood mage and you can even get rid of morrigan and STILL save the kid :)  I won't say how though but you'll be able to figure it out :)

OLD POST:

I was forced to kill a boy in game because I didn't want wynne (a healer) in my party. The only other option was to kill Wynne.   There is no way I'm replacing alistair, my dog, leilana with a stupid mage.

And I didn't want any help from a blood mage because it goes against the Chantry.

So now I had to kill some kid in game.

Not much of a choice lol.  GG bioware.

And, y'know.

[Another spoiler coming up.]
You could've killed Isolde.

Yea kill Isolde, but you need wynne's help right? The only way to keep wynne is to party with her in the circle magi tower. But i don't want a mage in my group.

You failed yourself there this is an empty complaint. There are several ways to resolve this without killing the kid.

I like the fact that if you do something crazy it comes back to haunt you. Considering your going up against a darkspawn army, turning away people capable of setting faces on fire is nuts. Heck even if you hate Morrigan you could use her as cannon fodder. As Alistar says, gray wardens are used to taking help wherever they can find it.

Guys is there anyway to avoid killing the kid without having wynne in my group EVER, even in the circle magi tower.

And I don't want help from a blood mage.

Wrong forum.

SPOILERS

You did not explore all your options - I've done that section twice; once nobody died and the other time Isolde died. Bioware gives you the option of killing the kid, but it's by no means the only (or best) option.

They lock Wynne and force her into your party.

What are you talking about? That's surely not the only way to avoid taking Wynne, because I ended up having to fight her at the Circle tower, never had her in my group, and never had to kill any kids. There's almost always more than one way any given story thread can play out in this game, and the Wynne events are no different.

In point of fact, if the choice you were required to make was so abhorrent to you, you could have taken Wynne along but never put her in your party. Just because a character joins your campaign doesn't mean you're forced to bring them along when you leave camp.

You can save the kid and still kill:

- blood mage
- wynne

?

I edited my post because I missed the "Don't want Blood Mage help" part, so yeah.

And it -is- a dark fantasy, for a reason.

You have to use wynne in the circle magi tower encounter. There is no way to remove her from party or is there?

Because at thar particular experience it is important to have Wynne with you. For her story-sake. I am sure she wouldn't just want to wait on some complete stranger to come save her own home.

In that case you pretty much made up your mind. You could try tickling the demonic influence out of him.
Frankly you just need the expertise of others in some situations - in this case a Mage - same goes for real life situations.

It's called choice and consequences; if you hate all mages so much that you must kill them all in teh tower and immediately kill the blood mage, it follows that your character shouldn't be able to magically save the boy. You reap what you sow.

Actually without a mage, either morrigan or wynne, you'll have to kill the kid. Sacrificing Isolde only allows a MAGE to enter the fade, in which Wynne, Morrigan, Irving or Jowan would have to do it.

If you decided not to save the mages your only option is to kill the kid, since Jowan can't enter the fade AND keep up the magic at the same time.
Sucks how bigotry comes to bite you back in the ass, doesn't it?  ;)

As soon as Wynne agrees to join your party it brings up the party select screen. Where if my memory serves you can promptly ditch her and use whichever party you like.

No, you can't. You can't swap out Wynne if you want to enter the tower.

I think later on after the Fade sequence you can, I'm not too sure though. Probably not. She's greyed out the first time through, you can't remove her.
