ACTUALLY you never even hear the YMIRS shoot, just that they turn to look at Jack.
Even despite her conviently exposing her back to one of them.

Artistic effect for adding drama. What can do YMIR to stop someone? Only shoot in legs, because they don't have anything to catch her, they are battle robots, not police ones.Ryzaki wrote...
You really think the YMIRs were going to attack her fatally? They're not humans. I have no doubt they (unlike the soliders) were programmed from the beginning to only subdue her. A YMMIR mech doesn't work off voice commands. (At least that's not seen in game). And all they do is go towards her probably in an attempt to intimdate her into surrendering. (the average person is defenseless against a mech. Maybe they didn't think she would be so strong after so recently being unfrozen.) Scene.
They just stare at her as she lunges at them. They flex those claws yet don't fire? I wonder why. You don't hear any gunfire either despite the fact that she clearly exposes her back to one of them.
Longer scene.

You still here NO gunfire. YMIR mechs do not need to move that close in to fire. One's at point blank rage yet moves closer instead of firing? It's obvious she took the one infront of her out first, giving the other two plenty of seconds to fire..yet...they don't? Unlike people they wouldn't have been shocked. There's no reason for the pause unless they were ordered NOT to kill her.

Intimidate Jack? Come on, prison chief is an idiot but not that much. :happy:Ryzaki wrote...
What can a mech do to stop someone. What else? She's unarmed. Without her biotics she's just a skinny girl. They'd box her in. (I doubt her biotics would've been allowed to be as strengthened as they were if they moved her. They more than likely would've drugged her).
And they're probably for intimidation. I doubt any of the guards actually expected to not be there when she was released. They probably had some sort of tranquilization device. The mechs were most likely there for additional security.

I can't actually find the information on the Asari biotics regarding upgrades. Do Asari use implants, bio amps and surgery to improve their biotics? It seems that they are just using their raw potential that they can control due to their different nervous system. Maybe they could surpass other species biotics even further if they used upgrades.
All asari are naturally biotic to some degree, and though not all choose to develop their abilities, those who do pursue training usually display formidable ability. They do not require implants to use biotics effectively, nor do they need to undergo special training to acquire conscious neural control; their reproductive physiology grants them this ability from birth. Biotic ability is mandatory for asari who want to go into military service. The most powerful train as asari commandos.

I was just wondering if asari would get stronger using all sorts of amps and implants. If they would, then there would probably be no way for humans to get the same level biotics.
Edit: So basically what I'm saying is it would make sense for Shepard or any other biotic to be as strong as asari only if they even it up with implants. And if asari can boost their biotics as well then it can't be achieved.
Example:
Human
biotic potential = 1
Biotic potential with implant = 3
With implant and bio amp = 4
Asari
biotic potential = 5
Doesn't use biotic enchansers.
Does that make sense?
Ryzaki wrote...
Yeah I get what you're saying.
If Asari don't use implants humans have no chance of every truly being equal to a Asari when it comes to biotics because all they'd have to do is start increasing their already strong natural ability with implants as well.
Huh...I'm curious now myself. I believe Liara *can* use implants...but does Benezia? Does Samara? (she does benefit from the biotic strength boost I believe...but gameplay and all...)
D.Kain wrote...
Maybe asari just consider it unethical to use bionics on their ''so perfect'' organisms, when they already have a big potential.
This thing about every biotic including Liara being able to use bio-amps in ME1 ruins it a little though.

UGH. Why can't Shep ask Samara if she uses implants?

Because she would biotic slap him.
On a serious note. This was already talked about a million times. Having refference to Shepard being a biotic is very little or is not there at all. More quotes reffering to that and exploring that would be very nice.
fixed it for ya ^^D.Kain wrote...

Simply that implants and amps are not the same thing. Implants allow a user to use biotics that don't naturally have the nervous system to do so. An amplifier is actually worn and acts as a sort of booster for biotics, it's not an actual implant.

Yes, they did upgrade the implants and that is, I believe is what Shep mentioned.
To "upgrade" the human biotic potential it'll take some serious alterations that don't do any favors to the persons mental stability - just look at Jacks story. Crazy Shep was useless to Cerberus.
If L2 already gave the best output for the human ability than that's it - the top of the meter, and best anyone but a crazy experiment can get. With the new implants we are the best that a sane, non experimental human biotic can be.
I get it that you want to kick the assari matriarch's butt, but realistically speaking it would not be wise to make Shep the new "biotic god". We are given a good amount of pover, but Jack is more powerful than we are, and so are a lot of asari I believe - for humans biotics are not natural, when for asari it is an essential part of who they are as a race..

It only becomes difficult when you figh Vasir and it becomes obvious who is a more skilled biotic.
She is a boss of course and for those reasons has many layers of defense, but her use of biotic charge during the fight, mass effect fields to prevent the fall from the window and when she jumps into her car, it all shows that she is a more precise and skill biotic then Shepard is.
