Might be just me being tired and stupid but how does dying work in multiplayer when using NWN2 platinum edition? If one of the players characters die is he/she perma dead? How can we go about ressurecting the character if not?

Is there a way to make killed character to only be "unconcious" until the end of the battle instead? Me and my wife play to have fun but we don't find dying fun :)
Restarting the server to a save game gets old real fast. We realy want to like this game but it is playing hard to get with missing textures (nvidia bug), constant crashes and rampaged autosvaing by the server.

Depends on the server. I've only played in two. In one you lose XP, in the other you have an XP debt (similar, but less annoying).

I should probably have been more clear. It is my own dedicated server I'm running and we're running the OC from the begining.

In the OC they should auto resurrect after battle unless all are killed.

export your character and get a character builder .mod from the vault. Then give your character a bunch of raise dead or resurection scrolls. Log back in with said character.

Thanks, that'll work.

You could also install the OC Makeover and then use the Party Editor to import a high level cleric into your party to resurrect you when needed.

Hm, nice interesting philosophical question. Is it cheating if everyone playing the game is in on it? :)

I would on the other hand do this to get a quest-item or a better weapon. My view is that this is simply a faster way than to restart the server and force everyone to log in again.

Hm, I feel that is a bit too big change in the balance since that cleric would do healing during the fight as well. Might just be me and strange personal rules :)

The AI settings allow a party member to be put into puppet mode or prevent them from using spells automatically.

Whatever floats your boat really. If you have fun, go for it.

The big issue is that by making things too easy, it can make things much less interesting, which lessens the replay value and makes you end up moving on to some other game much faster.

Generally in this game, you can assign a person to be the "DM", who customizes monsters, encounters to make things harder, as well as make things easier, to tailor things for your party or fix things. The DM client is made for this ( separate program that lets you do almost anything for the other players ), and if the DM is doing it, it's not cheating as he is the arbiter of the rules. This is not really how things are done usually for the OC, but it's how things are done in the game this game is based on where the DM's job is to tell the story your characters are playing thru. You can just logout and log back in with the DM client and make any changes you desire for the other players who are still on.
