Hi all,

I was wondering - how does one change the refresh rate? I've got a 120hz monitor and all, but I can find no way to change the refresh rate (and searching this forum has proven fruitless)

I tried mucking around in the dragonage.ini with the refreshrate setting, but it appears to have no effect...

Is there any way to do this?

Thanks!

Turn v-sync off and the game won't try to sync with your monitor's refresh rate.  It may cause screen tear though.

That's not what I am talking about - I know what VSync does, and I've got triple buffering on. I want 120hz out of the game, but can only get 60hz.

I'd check my machine, but offhand, I can't remember how to check what I'm getting in-game.

Are you getting 120 outside of DA2?

I know when I got my 120hz monitor, I made the mistake of hooking it up with an HDMI cable, which prevented me from getting 120. I didn't realise, until I tried to run 3D, that I needed to use a DVI cable instead of the HDMI in order to get the 120.

you set a monitor's refresh rate in the display panel properties (either Nvidia's or ATI's control panels). I would ensure you have any drivers for your monitor also installed.

I'll be - you're right. Seems the last time I mucked with drivers (a week ago, when I realized the latest NV drivers caused shadow issues in DA2) my settings got wiped and I returned to 60hz in Windows.

Thanks!

(also, I check in my Monitor's menu - I have an AW2310, which shows me the resolution and refresh rate in the menu. It also lets me scale 1600x1200 to 1080P (and other resolution scaling - better than any monitor I've seen in past), which rocks for the old games that don't like 1080P.
