It's nice to be semi- tall. Oh, how I hate the word "semi". It needs an replacement >.>

Ehhh... you Americans with your confusing Imperial system.

Me, i'm about 177-180cm's - tall and skinny.

What region of the world do you come from?  I live in Australia - we seem to use feet/inches and cm interchangably here - I've simply committed both to memory with respect to my height (though the conversion isn't exactly difficult...) Image IPB

Uhh, what part of Australia do you come from? Im Australian, from Sydney, and ive never seen anyone use imperial system except for sometimes during construction.

It was replaced decades ago.

Between 5'6 and 5'7 (172 cm -seriously, I don't get that people still used feet as a metric system considering we all have different feet :| ).

5'4" is not short. It is the perfect size with the exception of every architect that ever designed a kitchen, or  loo, or changing room, or engineers that design cars. But these are not size issues, these are sex issues. 5'4" is great because you get to have 2 full sets of clothing. Most of the month I am a size 4 and some of the month I am a size 6, so I need to shop a lot more than most people.

Well, that is a bit comforting for me. :'D

They tried to replace it decades ago here in the UK, too, but most people still measure heights in feet and inches, weight in stone and distances in miles.  Millimetres seem to be quite popular though, and are rather handy as 25ths-of-an-inch (almost), but weighing food and stuff has been in a state of utter confusion for longer than I can remember with pounds, kilograms, ounces, grams, pints and litres being used not just interchangeably but often being all muddled up together.  Social engineering at its best.

I've never heard it used in construction but for height most of the people I know still use it (Brisbane resident).
It's why I said 5'11 instead of 184cm

I live in Melbourne mostly, but spend some time in Sydney. In my experience, it's quite common (in conversation at least) for people to quote their height in feet and inches instead of cm. Sadly, many do not even know how to convert between the two.

This is probably the most major usage of the imperial system I've seen in Australia (that I can think of at the moment at least) - Not very common to hear people talking about miles, and weight (human weight at least, or rather mass) is always measured in kilograms.

Pft if I thats not a problem a ballbat to the knee's won't fix <<

But serriously enough,  5'4" seems to be the global average, going up to 5'6" in some cases. Only where 6 foot plus seems to be the norm is in the Scandinavian nations and Holland, but most studies agree its do to the standard of living being very high there.
