Also unless you mod your game you cant import Warden Commander armor into Awakening.
I would actualy say Cailens full set or Evons would be better in Origins though.
Hold onto the +40% Spell resist armor though, it can still be situationaly useful.

There is a Templar Armor that gives you 20% magic resistance-you might look at that.
Knight Commander Armor
Templar Armor
Warden Commander
Evon the Greats
Cailan's Armor
Thats for Origins. Of note is to pay attention to the set bonuses for the whole set.

I'm a big fan of juggernaught, and the commanders armor, upgraded to tier7. Since I'm going to templar, spirit warriror with this build, what armor do you think is best? Never tried the knight commanders plate, looked pretty good for spell resistance and, but does it lack somewhat in the defense end of meleeing. The stamina bonus and fire resistance of warden commanders armor I've always favored, what do you think is best however for a sword and shield templar, spirit warrior?
I sort of like to use the Armor of Diligence on my S/S tank, although I also use Varathorn's armor earlier in the game and mix and match with the best boots, gloves, and helmets that I can find.
Knight-Commander's plate has excellent protection but is pretty heavy to wear. Huge drain on stamina.
Warden Commander's is very good all-round and has good bonuses with the set. Juggernaut is also very good, especially if you up the resistances with the Ring of Ages.

You do know that wearing Knight Commander and a couple other peices of gear gives you 100% spell immunity and negates the need for resistances like on Juggernaut right?
I dont know why people are ignoring Cailens Armor set and Evons when they are considered the best in Origins.
Also keep in mind you can mix and match peices.

Regarding the question of spell immunity, my-top-of-the-list tactic has usually been to paralyze or petrify enemy spellcasters, so armor that negates spells has never been that big of an issue. But with a different approach to tactics the spell immunity could change my mind about using Knight Commander's plate. There is a trade-off, I suppose. Immune to spells but drained of stamina by massive armor. As long as the tactics are set right it can be played either way.

The trick is to look for sets of armor that reduce fatigue. Cailan's armor and any of Wade's sets of armor will give a nice fatigue reduction. Evon the Great's mail mixed with Wade's superior heavy dragonscale is my personal favorite. http://dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Evon_the_Great's_Mail
If you're that worried about magic resistance, just equip the spellward amulet along with dweomer runes. While high magic resistance is nice, you don't need 100% immunity, especially if you have a healer mage on hand.

By stamina, I'm assuming that you mean fatigue? That's something that warriors have to deal with, as any decent set of armor will take a toll on your fatigue. A warrior with the full set of sentinel armor will especially look like an arcane warrior with combat magic.

Yes, fatigue.
And sustained talents also will increase the fatigue factor. Seems to me I once was trying to use 3 or 4 sustained talents for one of my warriors and found that there was only enough stamina left for one activated talent.
And true, sets of armor can reduce the fatigue factor quite considerably. Though sometimes I find the item set bonuses seem to disappear unless I re-equip the armor every so often.
