It's pretty creepy to judge women for having sexual experience in real life, just FYI.

I'm fine with sexually active women. There's a difference between that and cartoonishly exaggerated promiscuity.

I just wish Aveline was a romance option. Yeah, she looks...er, more mannish than the other females, but she's a rational character that I can respect.

You know, I never would have thought about it, but Sebastian probably is the best for FemHawke.  Sure, he's a narrow-minded prig, but he doesn't have crippling flaws like Anders, Fenris, and Merrill that would preclude any healthy relationship.  And he's actually probably interested in a relationship, unlike Isabela.

From a player perspective, you've got to be kidding me if you care about the sex scene. 

From a character perspective, it all depends upon the priorities of your Hawke.  I tend to think a relationship-minded Hawke would rather wait around for Sebastian than sleep with any of the other losers.

Now of course all of the characters have their positives (talking to Isabela after doing her in Act 2, though admittedly I wanted to strangle Hawke for the sheer cheesyness of "what about true love". Or Merrill in the rivalry path finally accepting the mirror was a bad thing and shattering it. The problem I have is, that I don't feel they outweigh the negatives. Those conversations are good, but once you get back to doing stuff in Kirkwall their banters return to the "hurhur blood magic ish gud" and "hai guise gues wat i had sex again derp" which is just .... bleurgh.

Fair enough. I find the positive outweighs the negative by far, but it's obviously very YMMV. This said that's not what you were saying. "One-dimensional" means one layer and that's all, not "multi-layered but the one on top annoys me so much I can't get to the other ones." I really wish people would stop misusing ready-to-use formulas like this one.

And I wanted to strangle Hawke for cheesiness many times in romance dialogs. Damn, it could be so embarrassing I couldn't look at my screen.

Don't worry about coming across as confrontational though lol, the amount of vitriol I come out with in regards to DA2 is ridiculous ;D

Yep, I've seen that . But I'm stupid enough to believe one can state an opinion without being needlessly vitriolic.

If your Hawke actually has a sex drive, hooking up with Sebastian is no better a choice than any of the others. It's like you're skipping straight from the fun part to the "we've been married for 15 years and haven't had sex in 14" part.

Since flirting with Sebastian is as fruitless as flirting with Varric or Aveline, I wouldn't put a Hawke through all that waiting for nothing.

Also, Sebastian really isn't that into Hawke.  I find people who are attracted to me far, far sexier than those who aren't, even if they are crazy/whiny/promiscuous.

For my mage femHawke, I chose Merril. She's not the brightest bulb in the joint, but Hawke's put up w/ Carver all those years, so it could be worse. I thought Isabella at first, but they work better as BFF w/ benefits. She genuinely liked Anders, but she's not into threesomes or crazy abominations. Fenris was a pest. Had Aveline been available ...

Also, a Cullen/mage femHawke romance would have been interesting. Sadly, he is a Templar and already in love w/ another Amell.

I wasted an entire playthrough trying to get to that point, and was soooo close. I never got 100% rivalry, so I didn't get the final conversation. I even went back and replayed Act 2 and 3 to get my rivalry points up with him, but no cigar. Waaa.

That was my only Sebastian LI playthrough, and probably my last. I wish the Champion of Kirkwall could bend the Prince of Starkhaven to her will without having to be a total jacka** (or having to be chaste, no thanks).

He makes the rivalry proposal sound like a political thing. You can probably assume that no man is going to be able to resist a woman needling him for sex non-stop, but still, baggaaaaaaage.

If Cullen still isn't over the female mage warden after having not seen her in over 7 years, I think he'd qualify as crazier than all of the other LIs combined.

I don't think the game considers Sebastian a romance, rivalry or friendship-wise.  If anything, his flirts are an elaborate troll by the writers.

I had a feeling it was going to be a waste of time rivalmancing Sebastian, and I had even read up on it beforehand, but I had to make the mistake myself. Dang it.

I have this recurring dream that one of these days, I'll start up the xbox, and will get a notification that the game has updated. To my surprise and glee, it would be that The Exiled Prince DLC had been expanded, and that Sebastian's romance would be a real one, and that there would be some kind of satisfaction to be gained from it. The Champion of Kirkwall would get the love fo the most sane character in the game, wouldn't have to be stuck in a chaste marriage, and wouldn't have to be a total jerk, doing things completely out of character. Win-win-WIN!

And then I always wake up. *sigh*

I actually think the most natural choice is for Hawke not to have a romance at all. I did enjoy the romances, but they are all very dysfunctional. For Hawke to make things work with any of the LIs she really, really has to want it. Each one at some point gives her very good reasons to bail. I suppose if there was a canon romance for her Anders is the logical choice. He has a significant role in the story and he actively pursues her.

to the OP: it's been said before, but with the exception of merrill's kinda weird bedroom scene, all the romances are handled well depending on the hawke you play. all the LIs have their emotional baggage, but then, so did dao's.

To the OP I'd recommend either anders or Fenris, I liked the anders romance the most with my femhawke,

Nothing against isabela but she isn't my type of girl(as in I doubt she would be faithful from the one time I romanced her),...and neither is Merrill, I always feel like a dirty old man romancing her personally

Yeah if you go to bed on the first date with someone you barely know or you like sleeping with everyone around you then it is easy.
If you are careful about those things there is no problem in avoiding it.
