Vanguard.

I tried all of the other classes and that's now my favourite. Unfortunately it means in a new ME1 play through I've started as an engineer I'm playing it like a vanguard.../sigh. Still, the Geth seem surprised by my tactic.

In ME 1 and 2 it would be the Vanguard followed by a tie between the Infiltrator and Soldier.

I liked the Adept more in ME 1 but felt with the restricted skills it was less fun with limited customization options for how I could play as one. Regardless, the Vanguard felt like an effective biotic to me who could also use more combat skills.

This.

After playing Vanguard, no other class seems to be as fun, but infiltrator comes close.

*High five*
If they had a class in-between them, that'd be the ultimate class for me.

From a gameplay perspective? vanguard. But overall it would have to be the soldier.

Hey, my canon class better be one I enjoy playing. =p

I'm with you two as well with soldier being the third class I like to play as mostly( is hoping vanguards get warp back n infiltrators get overload back).

Adept... I feel like an idiot, and I should be, because today I discovered that PULL and WARP are a combo, and a fantastic one. Yep I´ve done 20 playtroughs xD

1)  Engineer
-If you get dominate from the Samara loyalty mission, you literally CONTROL YOUR ENEMIES!  AI Hacking + Incinerate + Cyro Blast + Dominate =  AWWWWWWWW YEAH!
2)  Adept
-Control of the battlefield.  I love how smooth biotics feels in this game, makes strategizing a lot easier.
3)  Infiltrator
-Who CAN'T deny that they love sniping someone's head off and them not even seeing you, or simply coming behind them and bludgeoning them to death?!
4)  Sentinel
-Brilliant for melee combat; get a shotgun, turn your tech armor on, shoot over and over, armor explodes, get close to dying, turn armor back on, rinse and repeat.  I've found that Sentinels are pretty epic if they have "Reave" too; Tech Armor can regenerate shields, Reave health.
5)  Vanguard
-Playing one right now.  Sure, it's fun to ram an enemy off the railing or shoot them in the face with time slowed down, but that ability is all that defines them.  I need more than one ability and a gun to have fun with a character.
6)  Soldier
-Never been a fan of focusing on gun fighting.

NOTE:  I like to play games as hard as I can, not as easy as possible.  This is why I love engineers and Adepts so <3.

I love the infiltrator in Mass effect 2. The sniper slowdown thing for the infiltrator makes it easy to pop heads off. The tactical cloak makes flanking enemies a lot more easier and fun.

Because of the fact that both games are so very different in their classes and gameplay...

ME1: Soldier and Adept. Why? Because regardless of difficulty when you're rocking as one of those you're playing on the easy difficulty. Soldier can spam Immunity constantly, allowing you to never go without it (maxed out and with the class bonus). You're unstoppable. Geth Prime and Krogan Warlords run up to you and slap you while you laugh as the Superman that you are.

Adept because Lift's fully upgraded and with the specialization bonus has the largest AoE in the game. Mix with Singularity, Throw, and grenades you lift up Krogan Battlemasters and Geth Primes and throw them out of the game space, for instant kills. If Throw's on cooldown the grenade works just as well.

And since Geth Primes and Krogan Warlords are the only tough opponents in the game, these abilities are fantastic. The only downside to Adepts is their low health which is a problem if Husks, Thorian Creepers, Rachni, Primes, and Warlords get to you. So you've got to keep them in the air or in stasis to lock those guys down. Early game's slightly difficult because of this. But from Mid-game on it's easy street....with the Rachni Acid attack being the only real threat to your life.

ME2:

Vanguard and Infiltrator. They're just super fun. I love Charging into enemies, being on the brink of death, and bringing the pain. I equally love taking the sniper rifle, turning invisible and scoring headshots. Once I get the Widow I'm having as much fun with sniping as allowed. It's just great.

In ME2 I find the Adept and Engineer to be the least fun. Adept because with the new defense stripping you're never as powerful as the other classes. And Engineer because the Drone just sucks. Otherwise, Engineer would be great. Cheaper upgrades, Overlord and Incinerate...but the Drone, lack of decent weapons (until DLC gave us the Lotus and laser targeting pistol). I just do not enjoy Engineer at all.

I found ME1 classes all felt too much alike. Other than the Adept's superior crowd control and the Soldier's invincibility, which made those two the clear winners in the class department, IMO at least.

So far:

Sentinel
Soldier
Infiltrator

Although the Soldier will always be my canon (because it's so easy to shoot through a level), the Sentinel is just a hell of a lot of fun with the mix of powers, I can take on anything. The Infiltrator is cool, but I feel Mass Effect wasn't a game built for sniping. I feel like my least favourite playthrough will be Vanguard, the "in your face" style of it is really not how I play FPS's, let alone TPS's.

ME1: Vanguard, Adept, Soldier
ME2: Vanguard, Vanguard, Vanguard... =D Sentinel and Adept are only other classes I played in ME2 so far. I like Sentinel because it can feel like ME1 VG if you want. But... you can't charge! =) I do like Sentinels biotic power set (wish had pull)  but chargin' just had me at 'I can't target it" =D

Vanguard yeah that charge ability. And shotguns. And Melee. I love it. And Vanguard is my canon class. But VG is not a one-trick pony or one-charge beast. You can get pull, and bonus power like Slam or Reave (and whatever) tho everything revolves around Charge, but - for me, it's all I need it takes a while on harder levels to use properly but very awesome. Tho I have enjoyed using pull recently pull/slam is enough powers with charge for me.

Based off all the other RPGs I've played I'm surprised I didn't like the Sentinel the most. I'm usually drawn to 1)casters 2)supportive role, 3) versatility 4)tactically engaging. The Sentinel is described as those, but it just feels like a Tank/Paladin more than the above.

Overall
1 Vanguard (Uber fast gameplay and rewarded for efficiency)
2 Adept (Very tactical and biotic combos are always fun plus I prefer casters)
3 Sentinel (Fan of the support/versatility/efficiency niche -- but I HATE Tech Armor)
4 Infiltrator (Fun tactically, wish cloaked could restore shields)
5 Solider (Reave+Rev is fun)
6 Engineer (I hate minion/pet classes)

Reflecting on this lsit -- I'm surprised I've enjoyed the Adept so much, I usually hate pure classes, but it was really enjoyable. I always like the hybrids. Dunno why I like biotics more than tech abilties.
