I'm in Act 3; just gave Merrill the dalish ring; and tried to talk to her for her questioning beliefs quest. It's not working. I tried leaving, removing her from my party, everything - nothing is helping. Does anyone know how to fix this bug?
I read in another topic that talking to allistair (as king) works. But allistair isn't a king in my file - he's a warden. Is there any opther way to work around this?

Have you completed A New Path? I was thinking that QB (Merrill, Friend or Foe?) didn't happen until after that.

Yup - finished a new path and went straight to Merrill's home. When I talked to her, it started the dalish ring conversation. Immediately after that finished, I tried to start Friend or Foe and it didn't work.

I'm having the same problem , done all her quests n now the Questioning Beliefs just doesn't seem to be triggering all she does is just comments on her roof ....
Is there any fix for this ???

Have you tried going and doing a quest or two with her doing things she'll approve of? I never had this issue before but now with my luck since I read about it I bet I will.

Did you try entering her house from her front door in Lowtown, instead of going there directly via the map? It probably sounds silly, but I had a couple of quests that didn't trigger correctly unless I went the long way in.

Hi all, got the same issue. Just did A New Path but nothing from Merrill at her place. Have tried going directly to house, entering from lowtown (day and night time) and gave her the ring before A New Path was even available to do. Have got all patches currently on Live.
Had this issue on my first file back in Feb, so annoyed it is still happening on later files.

Haven't had this problem myself, but it sounds like it might be the first problem listed under 'Bugs' here:

It seems there is a workaround, but it requires a lot of backtracking.... Hope that helps.
