Also nice to see that darkspawn born of dwarven broodmothers now finally have beards too, that always seemed like a lore inconsistency before.

Genlocks are some of the most common darkspawn, numerous in the underground. They are creatures of darkness, most at home far below the surface, where they roam in packs led by the larger and more physically intimidating alphas. These packs pose a real danger to anyone foolish enough to venture into the Deep Roads, for they have been known to ambush and slaughter even groups of seasoned warriors.
Ah yes, so common that they don't even appear in the main game.

I laughed when I read that too. At least they look interesting. Maybe they can patch in a few of the smaller ones into the Prelude, escape from Lothering section and the Deep Roads. I'd pay money for that.alex90c wrote...

Lions are pretty common in Africa. Yet very scarce around Edmonton. It's almost like you have to be WHERE they are common to find them. Funny that.
Still, I'm able to wear my BBQ sauce cologne and feel safe, so I sholuldn't pick on the lions.

Well, the codex for genlock alphas said that they were taller than regular genlocks. But it never said how much bigger, so Bioware was free to operate using that information and keeping within the boundaries of the lore, where a Hurlock should be taller than a Genlock.
That hurlocks are bigger than genlocks in a general sense doesn't preclude the possibility of there being an exceptionally large genlock that is bigger than your average hurlock, I would say.

But we went into the Deep Roads several times in DA2...the whole reason the genlocks are supposed to be more common is that they're born of dwarven broodmothers and thus more numerous and most common since the darkspawn and dwarves are next door neighbors. And despite making several trips to the Deep Roads in DA2, we only saw copy/paste hurlocks and not a single genlock. In the Deep Roads. Where genlocks are supposedly common.
Just seems more likely BioWare couldn't work in a new model into DA2- especially considering the concept art for the DA2 genlocks has been around since before the game came out with the facebook game. Unless they held back the genlocks in DA2's base game to fancy up the DLC?

The place WHARE genlocks are common is the deep roads. We have been there in the main game, yet we havn't seen a single genlock.
Speaking of darkspawn that hasn't been in the main game, are we going to see any shrieks?

Oh, I get it... no dwarf women. Tricky devs, using one inexplicable absence to cover another.

The monkeys are doing background roles in the Mass Effect series.
I saw carts in DA:O, DA:A, and D2, yet I saw no horses. Horses are even mentioned in the codex. It's hard to imagine a pre-industrial civilization thriving without horses. Ergo, DA:O must stink 'cause it set the precident that plagues the series to this day.

Now that I think about it, I didn't even know if horses even existed in DA universe. HORSES FOR DA3!!
