I'll be buying Legacy to advance the story and out of respect for Origins, but haven't the devs learned we don't like this stuff? The genlock alphas are rip offs of LOTR's armoured troll, and the hurlock alphas looklike the mouth of Sauron.

Yeah that doesn't really fly, there were plenty of genlocks in the Ferelden horde who sacked Lothering. And why wouldn't they be in the Deep Roads, as opposed to the human darkspawn everywhere? Should be the opposite way around.
Oh, I get it... no dwarf women. Tricky devs, using one inexplicable absence to cover another.
ok I laughed XD
even though I'm crossing my fingers for this DLC to be awesome and enjoyable I miss dwarf women, can we see some more dwarf women in the future? We had a Nathaniel cameo, how about some Sigrun?
SIGRUN!!! <3

Well, you have a Deep Roads expedition in the main game, remember? You actually go where they live.Chris Priestly wrote...

Genlocks are some of the most common darkspawn, numerous in the underground. They are creatures of darkness, most at home far below the surface, where they roam in packs led by the larger and more physically intimidating alphas. These packs pose a real danger to anyone foolish enough to venture into the Deep Roads, for they have been known to ambush and slaughter even groups of seasoned warriors.
Ah yes, so common that they don't even appear in the main game.
Lions are pretty common in Africa. Yet very scarce around Edmonton. It's almost like you have to be WHERE they are common to find them. Funny that.
Still, I'm able to wear my BBQ sauce cologne and feel safe, so I sholuldn't pick on the lions.
But, right. That was stupid from me. Hawke killed so many Genlocks on his way down the Deep Roads, before the first cinematic with the blocked path, that there just weren't any left.

Cassandra: wait wait wait. what darkspawn did you kill.
Varric: Erm I'm not a Grey Warden, I don't really know.... there were darkspawn and ....Ogres, yeah you know, the really big ones.
Cassandra: Not good enough dwarf, I need exact types and numbers and I want them now for the pedants on the BSN!

You have to admit though that Darkspawn Kong is funny, right?

My issue with images such as that one is that, no matter how amusing they might be at first, a small group will inevitably latch on to it and then, anytime anyone starts discussing the Genlocks, they'll post that image and nothing else, as if it constitutes A) witty repartee and

True. Sadly that'll always happen no matter what. Even when one person posts it and is also making a serious discussion, people will see it and latch on to it still.

It's funny, people dislike how human like the Chalkspawn's teeth were in DA2, and now they have a problem with how sharp they are, when they were sharp in Origins.
Bioware just can't win.

The Genlocks and Hurlock Alphas are fine, the ogres need to go back to there old look and Bioware needs to keep the shrieks the same. They however need to do something with there Hurlocks, both versions where bad. One looks like a wannaba Uruk-hai with no hair or skeletore wannabes.

Personly if Bioware had to stay with one look I rather they go back to there old look to. The new look is plain stupid for the Hurlocks. They are a funny running joke. The Ethereal Writer Redux wrote...
Personally I never saw them as Uruk-Hai wannabes. Even if I did though, I'd prefer the old look. They gave themselves Chelsea Grins! Which was something I liked about the Hurlocks in Origins.
