____
We are so excited about San Diego Comic Con next week and the upcoming Dark Horse/Bioware panel we thought, why not give you a sneak peek of things to come? The highly anticipated Mass Effect 3: Invasion comic will bridge the gap between the Mass Effect 2 game and upcoming Mass Effect 3 game from Bioware due out early next year. You can download a seven page preview of this highly anticipated comic now.
What? That Mass Effect appetizer just made you more hungry for Mass Effect? Well, how 'bout every single Mass Effect comic: FREE! That's all four issues of Redemption and all four issues of Evolution, over $15 in comics, for free! But don't wait too long, Mass Effect mania only lasts for 24 hours, so get 'em while you can.
____
Download them, right? And... where, in this case?

For those who want it on iphone/ipad, they have just said:
"You can also head to digital.darkhorse.com and download them to your account then open from collection in App."
They are still listed with prices. They are not free.

Meh should've know it was too good to be truecatabuca wrote...
I don't think it's the servers that are the main problem (well, once you get the site loaded, at least). It's the fact that they say you can download it for free, and yet you can't.

Just posting what they said on twitter, is all.
Trust me, I'm as confused and frustrated as you.

No i know. I'm not directing the frustration at you, lol. It's just you would think they would have this all sorted out at the time they decided to announce this. Guess they rolled it out & forgot to turn on the "free download" button.

Primarily, what we need to know is:
• How do you download the comics for free onto your ipad/iphone?
• Can you download the comics for free to your computer, and if so, how?
• If you have to read them online, will they still be available to read online for free after this 24 hour window if you create the account today, or can you only access them for free online today and today only?

you can read them on their website for free. Actual downloading not possible.
Yes im aware of that. But the statement says that you can download them. Even Dark Horse has said themselves that you can download them for free.
The article didn't state...come read all the Mass Effect comics for free for the next 24 hrs. It says download them for free for the next 24 hrs.

Sometimes when a company says download they don't mean actually getting a digital copy on your machine. They mean reading them online in a web browser. Stupid I know but that is how it works.
In that case, we need clarification about whether, once this 24 hrs has been and gone, people who create an account today will no longer be able to access the comics online without then paying.

Read it for yourself, they clearly state themselves that you can download them for free.

If you wanted to argue semantics yes you do download them even if your just reading it in your browser and can't save them to the computer. But that's semantics and a jerkass move
Indeed. Every time you serve a page online you're downloading it, whether it's saved to your computer for later use or not. But yes, that's semantics, and clearly not the implied intention behind the wording of this offer. If they didn't intend you to be able to actually download (and save) the comics for free, they shouldn't have said so.
It's all very odd.
