Nothing but windows updates.

My graphics card is an "ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330" i did just looked in my dragon age config, and it's telling me there is a newer driver available for my display adapter, and my game may perform better if i update my driver. i guess i should give that a try?.

It's worth a shot - are you on Windows 7 64bit?

I'm on patch 1.04 using the Ultimate Edition
Occasionally My loading sign would freeze, but the music continues like normal. When It unfreezes, the dots on the map will have significantly progressed/finished, or the transition will immediately occur. I am using a Windows 7 64 bit Intel Core i5 processor. This also happens In my DA2 game, if that helps.

Be careful playing this game on a laptop.  It is very hard on GPU and CPU both and can cause part-killing overheating.  They weren't just being randomly evil when they decided to not support any mobile hardware for this game.

Was having problems with long loading and so I exited the game and looked on here for any info. I decided to re-enter the game to see if it was any better and the long load times went away. I'll explain what happend.

I am running on the 1.05 beta patch and am playing the Dragon Age: Origins Ultimate Edition. I played for about 3 and a half hours with no trouble at all then slowly the game started to slow down. Here is a list of what was occuring.

Note: This was occuring in all areas. Camp, dungeons, main areas, ect..

- Load times into areas increased from about 5-10 seconds or less to about 1 minute or more.
- When you talk to one of your companions, the list of dialog choices would studder when comming up.
- When you choose to return to the game after talking to a companion, it would take 8-10 seconds to do so.
- The item menu that comes up when you loot someone or something, would take about 3 seconds to pop up, as apposed to being instant.
- Bringing up the map, inventory, or journal would take a second or two and would studder.
- Exiting the game to the main menu would take upwards of 10 seconds and when it finaly did, the menu would studder while showing up.

Before discovering the 1.05 patch, I was running the 1.04 patch to combat the DLC authorization issues. With the 1.04 patch I encountered the same problems but they occured more suddenly and did not go away after shutting down and restarting the game. In fact, the only reason why I am running any patches at all is to fix the problems with DLC authorization. I have not encountered any glitches or crashes thankfully.

Also I am playing the game on optimal settings and my system specs are as follows.

Intel Quad Core i7 3.40GHz
9 GB RAM
Nvidea GeForce GTX 550 Ti
1024 MB Dedicated graphics memory
1397 GB Hard Drive
64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium

That about does it, I hope maybe this imformation helps in figuring out what is causing these problems and may help in developing the next patch.

Thank you for reading,

I'm also experiencing extremely long load times for anything that involves a loading screen. This happens right from the moment I finish loading up the game and start playing. I have also ran into the problem where the spinning load thing stops or sometimes it takes really long for it to show up. I'm running AMD phenom II with Nvidia gtx 460, and 4 gigs of ram on windows 7 ultimate 64bit. I was forced to use 1.05 beta because the 1.04 that came with my DAO ultimate edition from Origins.com kept giving me the unauthorized for the DLC. Hope this patch gets fixed so the long loads go away, thanks.

I have played quite a bit since this started and it seems more and more like some sort of memory issue. I get longer load times and end of conversation times from more than just going to new zones. I stayed in one zone and held multiple conversations and the load issues came from just the interactions with npc's. One time i used the trap making cheat in Loathering to level a character since i really wanted a certain spell before leaving the town and since you have to interact with her about 20 or more times to get a level the times to end the conversation i was having with her kept getting longer and longer. Hope that helps some. By now you probably already know this but i didn't feel like reading every post here to find out.

Just installed the ultimate edition and got 1.05b to get access to all the DLC. All of it is enabled. Logging out in Lothering, game hung for about a minute before transitioning to main screen. After quitting, was informed by Visual Studio of an unhandled System.NullReferenceException in daupdatesvc.service.exe [1328]. Hope that's of use to someone.
