Patch 1.05 PUBLIC BETA - fixes authorization issues

When I installed the patch, the game began re-downloading all of my DLC. It did not do so for the four DLC items I mentioned, and the game wanted me to buy them again. I have since found out how to download them through the 'Your registered game content' part of my profile--except for the Feastday Pack; both Feastday Gifts and Feastday Pranks show up in the list, but there is no link to download them. I will edit this post when I have discovered whether the items I am downloading work now. If they do, is it possible to obtain the Feastday Pack without going through the in-game menu, or is my DLC effectively lost?

I just decided to come back to playing DA:O after taking months off due to issues with DLC not being authorized. I decided to make a new game tonight and same issue tons of DLC showing up as unauthorized.
I downloaded this patch and now I can't get the game to start at all. The shortcut stopped working and selecting it from the start menu doesn't work either.
Anyone else having this issue?
Not that I know of. Though it would help if you could report the problem better. In what way is it not working? Is the shortcut broken? (I.e. does Windows throw up it's "can't find..." error dialogie"?). Does the game try to run, but hangs? Does the splash menue appear but the game not load? Or....
Sorry for being unclear. What I meant was that when I try to use the shortcut or go through the start menu nothing happens at all. When I click/doubleclick the menuoption/shortcut it's like the computer ignores what I did, nothing starts, nothing happens at all.

I had the same issue with the shortcut. You may need to go to the actual executable (It's in the bin_ship folder of Dragon Age Origins. The location varies depending on your install but it will generally be in the Programsx86 section of the main C drive. Disc versions install a Dragon Age file directly there. Digital providers generally install a file there for their service and then each game has a file within that.) Right click on the application file and create a new shortcut. You can also run the game directly from there.
Thank you very much that cleared up the problem for me. I appreciate it.

As for DAO, if you have installed UE over the original game, that itself can cause problems. There is a pinned solutions round-up thread at the top of this forum.

I have also wrote some overview notes here (social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/58/index/8069609/1#8070498) so that people new to the issue can easily uninstall from Steam and re-install with Origin + eventually use this latest patch 1.05 that resolves the issue.
ciao,
Patrick

Also no probs in speed/time in loading it all up as per before the install of the patch. On the down side it has crashed once but I loaded to the save before it and so far hasnt happened again.

Being a prior owner of Dragon Age Collectors Edition, I purchased Dragon Age UE on Steam last night just to get all the expansion content in one go. Before the Steam purchase, I'd already been registered for the Collectors Edition content (stone prisoner, dragon armor etc).
Seeing that Steam was needing to download the full UE version, I let it do its thing and download the massive multi-gb package as I slept last night. Well, this morning I wake and log in to play for a little while before going off to work, only to discover that now I can't even load my saves from before due to this DLC mess. Not only can I not use the new stuff that I paid for last night, I can't even play from my saved games from the night before, with seemingly no way to get it back apart from uninstalling the Steam install entirely and just throwing it away! Thankfully I find these threads here and at least found out about Origin, the beta 1.05 etc.
So today I do that... install Origin, enter my codes for the UE content, and let Origin download the game AGAIN. Come home from work this evening, launch the DragonAge UE installer that Origin downloaded, and much to my chagrin, it was the german version of the installer 'dragonage_ultimate_3_de'. And yes, I made sure my Origin account language prefs were 'en' before doing anything ('en' is the default ffs).
I went ahead and guessed my way through the installer just to see what happens. Thankfully it did install the English client. Or maybe the actual Dragon Age game bases its language settings on the default OS language. So all was not lost. I am able to play the game in English.
But what a crock. You'd think all these big name publishers and distributers would have their **** figured out, but I guess not.
Anyway, the Dragon Age UE installer from Origin... no doubt about it, Origin downloaded the 15gb 'de' version when it should have installed the 'en' version.

On a more serious note, I cannot wait for this patch to be released, it's really pushing me to my wits end. It used to fix with repeat logins and whatnot, but now nothing works.

Dragon Age won't allow me to continue my game because my content is apparently unauthorized. I purchased the game through steam and noticed that you said the following:
"Q: Can Steam users apply the 1.05 BETA patch?
A: The Steam service unfortunately doesn't support BETA patches. However, all PC/Mac users who have registered their game automatically receive free access to the full-game download via EA's Origin service. If they wish, users who have purchased the game through Steam can uninstall their Steam version and replace it with their Origin version, thereby gaining access to the 1.05 BETA patch. Once the patch is no longer in BETA and sees an official release, Steam users will be able to access it via Steam's normal patching process."
As a fellow Canadian I'm subjected to our wonderful ISP limitations on downloading content. So instead of redownloading the game when will the patch that allows me to continue my save game be launched?
I paid for the game at release (Digital Deluxe Edition) and I just want to play the game I paid for.

I downloaded it and activated it. It managed to fix the authorization issues; however, when I want to play, the game still says that I'm missing the (collector's edition), so it's items including the blood dragon armor doesn't appear. So what should I do?
