YES! She's by far my favorite character from the novels.

When I read the books I always pictured Summer Glau for her character...

True summer glau could fit. Infact seeing the art work that the creators used I think they've actually somewhat based her on her. If your designing a scifi autistic babe it's hard not to think of her, not that I'm saying that Miss summer is autistic but she seems to like to portrait them.
Her character on Firefly could certainly be considerd authistic and even her role as the terminator was strangly autistic

Either way this game should be her genre and she would certainly play the role convincing

Squadmate could work, depending on how "functional" she is. LI? Not so much.

i'd say more of a temp squaddie if it possible at all. We do not know what will happen after the 4th novel. Which revolves around her.

oh god no - after the awful kahlee sanders, gillian is amongst the worst characters in book fiction, not to mention typical cliche. besides we already have the "troubled biotic" covered with jack.

Yeah but Jack as a character has somewhat failed. She is a deranged sociopath and probably even bioware agrees as in ME:3 thet will make her somewhat more softer and more mature. Meaning they are going to mix her up with Ashlee as a tough religious chick with a bad past maybe they even give Ashlee longer hair to set them better apart.

Gillian on the other hand gives them the opportunity to return to Jacks original concept of the orphan girl that got tested on by Cerberus and has a noticable mental condition (autism Vs sociopath).

Personally I think the character of Jack was a mistake chosen above Gillian because you can get away with the idea that a sociopath can get a moment of enlightment and expose a vurneral human being. While someone that starts out as a autist is going to stay a autist at the end of the game regardless of their character development.

Pedophilia is sexual interest in prepubescent children. Gillian is not prepubescent. Pedo Bear would not approve.

She should at least appear on the Migrant Fleet bits, that would be nice. But yeah, if they are trying to make the books more integrated into the game (we are meeting Kai Leng, after all), she would make a pretty good squadmate.

...russian pedobear still approve. All before 18 counts as pedophilia here.
Many, many people were rendered criminals after this redaction of law.

You want an autistic kid as a squadmate, yeah.... I wouldn't expect anything other than a cameo or a reference from someone else...

I'm not saying she should be a full squad member, i think it would just be interesting to have her in the game.  But if she was a squad mate, I think it would make sense.  The second novel gives several hints to the fact that she might be growing out of her mental condition.  So it could be possible that if we do see her in ME3, she could function relativly normaly.

I'm definitely for seeing Gillian in the game. Especially given how Cerberus painted her as the savior of mankind and all.

I haven't read the novels but this what I think
Should she play an important role in ME 3: YES
Should she be a squad member in any form: NO

Idk if she'd be in the squad simply because she isn't that old is she? Maybe a brief cameo where she shows off her ridiculous powers, but I can't see much past that. Definitely not a LI, no Space Pedophiles.

Cameo would be cool... though anything more is unlikely. She'd be, what... 16 during the events of ME3? I don't see Shepard or Anderson even allowing her to be a part of the squad. That said, would be cool if there was an 'escort' type mission in which she is temporarily playable.

I will quote the third Matrix movie for this one.

"But the machine will not make any difference If I'm 16 or 18"

(I'm not sure it's the exact quote, but Kid say something very similar in the movie)

Exactly. If she's 16, then she shouldn't be LI, but squaddie for sure! It would actually be refreshing to have a very young squaddie of the same human species. We've already had young Asari and Krogan and Quarian too I guess.

doesnt matter what her age is!!!! i mean grunt is only a weak old but hes still recruitable cuz of hes potential, look at thane he is a dying drell but can still fight, her biotc power surpasses that of any major characters that appeared in the game, they wont hesitate recruiting someone as young as her if she can throw multiple husks out of sheppards way

if she is in mass effect 3! i dont see how someone who is as powerful as her making only a cameo

if bioware comfirms that she will be in me3 then there is no doubt that she will be recruitable

probably not a deafault maybe a replacement if jack died in me2

No thanks. I'm not sure how suitable a volatile autistic biotic teenager would be for a crack military team.

Well, no, it'd actually be interesting. Not for her particularly, but if Kahlee Sanders tags along I can see what all the fuss with her is about.

(Oh. This is an old topic. Shame on you all. Shame.)

Don't blame me. I had nothing to do with it's resurrection.
