I would. I would also love a hanar squaddie. We want Blasto BioWare, Blasto!!! But there should definitely also be a new humanoid female squaddie.zukuto wrote...

Not to mention if it was just Vega, then some players could end up with only 3 people in the entire squad if they killed everyone they could and the 2 SM survivors they've imported just happened to be have only cameo roles in ME3.
...And?
If the player can't keep his squad alive, there should be consequences. Having a very small squad in ME3 would certainly be a conseqence.

I'm not crazy enough to do that, but I would like to know how that worked out.DWH1982 wrote...

It's one thing to punish the players by having them have super-small squad, it's another thing to make them lack basic skills in the squad (engenieer for example) that may be needed to complete the game at all, or the quests.DWH1982 wrote...

It's easy enough to finish ME2 without most of the squad dying. To the point that getting to the end of the game with most of your squad dead is almost like an easter egg.
Besides, I can't think of many basic squadmate skills that were needed to complete any missions in ME2. Since they dumped the need for a tech expert to hack computers/locks, you can pretty much bring whoever you want along with you.

From what we know though they're bringing RPG elements back after the fan outrage on lack of them in ME2. So maybe you will be unable to complete some missions without a specific expert? I'm just wondering if punishing the players this much for the choices made in the previous separate game(s) isn't going overboard. Someone once jokingly suggested "you didn't scan all the Keepers in ME1? -> Reapers win in ME3!" consqeuence and while it would be great in theory, in practice most player would go "FUUUUUU I ain't replaying 3 games, done with this ****!!!". I'm all for the trilogy aspect but at the same time, each part of any trilogy should be able to stand on its own I think. So I dunno... :/DWH1982 wrote...

- sterile female krogan - and Genophage story will become even more complicated.
- human, maybe? 'counts... 4fem/4m", seems to Vega balanced it, but if he needs in counterpart, likely female. Someone needs to have Incinerate/Cryo blast, so likely engineer. And I hope blonde or redhead this time. Hah, female blonde Engineer. About personality it depends on what Vega is like - in first game there was calm guy/energetic girl, in second cold girl/open guy, so if Vega is going to be unexperienced in politics and that serious looking as he's on AAP, my vote for cheerful ironic girl familiar with political battles.

I'm thinking a female human vanguard, perhaps a morally dubious character, or at least one with no scruples.

Is already a squadmate in ME2 thus not fitting the definition of "new female squadmate in ME3"
