Is already a squadmate in ME2 thus not fitting the definition of "new female squadmate in ME3"

Semantics...:P

No thanks to new female squadmate. Sure the idea I like, but I'd prefer a much much deeper story and character development than the crap we had at ME2. Which was good stuff, but now is the time to go balls out on everything.

Okkkkkkay   Tho as for me, I'd prefer to see more boiz as new characters. I like very much Jack, Kasumi & Samara, their all the women I need in ME 3. One more hottie (like Ellis from Left 4 Dead 2) would do so nicely.

I doubt there will be a new squadmate besides Vega. We have too many people at this point. Adding someone else just seems like clutter.

I'm guessing Gillian. Doubt they make her a LI though, since she is what 16? I haven't read the novels, but from what snippits I've read she appears to be the kinder version of Jack.

I don't understand the appeal of blonde, why is everyone so hooked up on that?

Personally, I'm looking forward to the return of Kelly, although not necessarily a party member.  But to have her as a love interest on the level of the other characters.

I'm not trying to speculate, they should already know any new characters that are going to be put into it.  And I'm not going to guess what those may or may not be.

With that said, I still keep my hopes up for a female version of what have been shown males only from the other races or another Asari like Aria and Morinth combined.

From what we know though they're bringing RPG elements back after the fan outrage on lack of them in ME2. So maybe you will be unable to complete some missions without a specific expert? I'm just wondering if punishing the players this much for the choices made in the previous separate game(s) isn't going overboard. Someone once jokingly suggested "you didn't scan all the Keepers in ME1? -> Reapers win in ME3!" consqeuence and while it would be great in theory, in practice most player would go "FUUUUUU I ain't replaying 3 games, done with this ****!!!". I'm all for the trilogy aspect but at the same time, each part of any trilogy should be able to stand on its own I think. So I dunno... :/

But that's not RPG, that's just pissing me off because i have to bring a class to unlock locks and stuff.

I would like a female Turian. An
"ice queen" of any race would be great though. Miranda got way too
nice way too fast to really be considered such. Someone who has no
"soft side," (at least not for Shepard) but isn't necessarily evil like
Morinth (or addicted to killing for that matter :). I suppose it won't
happen as people love to get friendly with everyone, but wouldn't it be
great to have just one person like Udina aboard the Normandy? Conflict
is fun in fiction!

In that case, only if leads to angry romance/sex.

Hoping for it to be Kasumi. I don't want too many new characters. Besides Kasumi was DLC which means she might as well be a new character =D

It's easy enough to finish ME2 without most of the squad dying. To the point that getting to the end of the game with most of your squad dead is almost like an easter egg.

Besides, I can't think of many basic squadmate skills that were needed to complete any missions in ME2. Since they dumped the need for a tech expert to hack computers/locks, you can pretty much bring whoever you want along with you.

From what we know though they're bringing RPG elements back after the fan outrage on lack of them in ME2. So maybe you will be unable to complete some missions without a specific expert? Another way to look at this would be as a challange, not as punishment.  If you have a small squad in ME3 because so many people died in ME2, it makes the game harder, maybe it even locks out the best conclusions. But, if you can actually finish ME3 and defeat the Reapers with a small, bare bones squad, you get an acheivement for doing so, and maybe you unlock powerful bonuses that can be used in future playthroughs.

I really doubt that most ME2 players would be upset, as it seems that most have multiple Shepards that they plan on playing through. If there's a fear, Bioware could include a comic that recaps the major decisions from the previous games - lets you decide which squaddies survive the SM, who to romance, that sort of thing. That way, someone who lost critical members of their team wouldn't have to play over from ME1 or ME2.

On the subject of the thread: I wonder if "new" characters might depend on which Virmire Survivor survived. So, maybe if Ash died, you get to recruit Parasini, who I (suspect) would have skills similar to Ash. If Kaidan died, instead of being able to recruit Parasini, you recruit a male with similar abilities to Kaidan.

It would balance the squad for every player, and Parasini would technically count as a "new" female LI, at least in playthroughs where the player can recruit her.

Well, I definetly want to see Dr.Khalee Sanders, after all this time. But I don't know how realistic it would be to make her a possible 'love interest" for Shepard. He can't get all the girls. :P Since he is the star of the games and she is the star of the books.I would prefer for them to have a charming brother and sister like vibe and relationship, akin to He-Man & She-Ra or Apollo & Artemis...^_^

Shiala - shiala - SHIALA... StarMarine's Post sums up perfectly how big a role she could have in ME 3.

Finally, Emily Wong...Having her on the Normandy as an Embedded Journalist. Is a good way to give her more screen time and lay the ground for romance.

It's funny how some people think (or hope) there will be no new female squad mate. Have you forgot that Ashley can die on Virmir and Tali can die in ME2 ? Wich mean that a lot of people would be stuck with only Liara in their team (and she's not even a girl)....

There will definitely be new squadies. Your team will not just consist of VS, Liara, and Vega. I imagine atleast Garrus and Liara will have replacements.. OR... You'll get a ME1 sized team + Garrus and Tali.

Pretty much. BW said its focusing on a smaller squad than me2 for deeper romances.

Combining me1&2 teammates, we're looking at 15 people [the VS is one person]. I heard its bigger than me1's 6 person squad, so Im guessing possibly 8? Some people stay the whole time while others come and go. My theory - About half the squad is permanent while the others are temp. Would make sense since BW claims 4 specific ppl are "permanent" - [i.e - Garrus, Liara, Tali & the VS.]  Not that Im complaining ^_^

The problem is, which romances will be deeper? The romances of the ME3 squadmates (Liara, Garrus, Tali, VS and the new LI) or all of them)? I'll be disappointed if they'll treat the other ME2 LI in the same way they treated the VS and Liara in ME2.
About the new female companion, I think she'll be a human, and the new LI (almost certain bisexual).

It'd be nice if we had a female human squad mate. We need one that's a tech person. Like a stuffy tech person. I like those. I mean, there hasn't been one completely advanced tech human. We've only had sentinels, soldiers, vanguards, and adepts. Vega doesn't look like an infiltrator, so can we at least have a person that can be a strong tech person. And yeah, while Kasumi is tech like, I always considered her closer to an infiltrator based on her loyalty mission and her skills.

Probably been said, but I like the option of Kahlee Sanders (Idk if I spelled it right).
She is physically fit, tough, kicks ass, and is hot.
BAYAM!
