I personally hate the whole paragon/renegrade point system ... but the three choices would hopefully not be tied to the point system. People are just use to the 3 choice option.

You could have the following choices:

Paragon  
"I Respect You" = Talking & Hugging

Neutral
"I Love You" = Snuggling & Kisses

Renegrade
"I WANT YOU" = Rated M Desire

That's a very good point. We get to make all of the other decissions that effect Shep's life, and I'm sure that every player has their own idea of what a good "romance" should be about. It only makes sense that the players should be able to make this choice too. 

If they set it this way I could also see how dependent on the Shepard you are playing and the LI even your choices would change. My femshep with Liara would probably go the Neutral way while me maleshep with Ash would totally renegade it.

Not to say I wouldn't check out all the options at some point.
