What do the item colors supposedly represent?
On the computer version you have green, brown, white, at least that's all in act 1. What's the best, second best...?

Green indicates a positive effect and red indicates a negative effect (the effects would come into play when the item is equipped). I'm not sure about brown or white. White may just be your standard mundane item?
EDIT - Checked a different source:
Brown = common item
Silver/white = more powerful than common
Gold = rare
Green = DLC (the green mention above is solely for the effects....sorry about that)
Purple = The best item within a DLC

Purple items are in the base game. DLC items are green, regardless of quality.

I know that's what the web's links post's say. But I have brown (not gold, have both), that have good stats and rune slots, but none of the white/silver do; and the white/silver have crummier stats than the brown. Again, when it comes to an item, 'what is- is', but I was curious as to the designers color scheme intent.
