I'm seeing a trend here, maybe. Deus Ex: HR comes out in August, a dystopian cyberpunk game, maybe formally an RPG. Now the devs from Bulletstorm and TW2 have teamed up to bring us Hard Reset. It's cyberpunk as well. It's also PC exclusive ( as far as I can tell ) which is exceedingly rare for a shooter nowadays. I'm thrilled to see more sci-fi goodness and to see the PC platform getting some attention. This game is only two months away.

Anyone intrigued?

Other than the cyberpunk thing, I wouldn't associate this with DX:HR at all. DX:HR is in many ways an RPG, whereas this looks like and is described as a pure shooter. Though yes, now I am intrigued (having never heard of this before)

My graphics card couldn't take it, think I found me a replacement though so yeah don't care about the topic I made on here. Anywho haven't heard of it till now, but looks like its taking its own direction with a bit of a Fallout/Bioshock thing going on there. Last shooter I played on PC was CNC renegade. Wouldn't hold my breath on it sticking to PC though. Doesn't look bad though, but not my sort of game.

Saw it on Kotaku. Their description was Blade Runner meets Painkiller sounds like a good formula. I'll be watching it.

meh I'm sure there will be some minor flaw that the Op will find unforgivable about the game.
I see trends to :P

I don't care if it actually stays on PC or not, but for it to release on PC first is highly unusual. I've always been a fan of cyberpunk; sci-fi that takes place in the near future, it seems to hit closer to home with me.

Look interesting. I'd like to see more of the Game play mechanics though. So far there is not much to go by.

Yes, Ridley Scott is likely proud of this studio, or pissed off. It looks interesting so far from what little we know.

Hmm true enough to the first, to the later bit fair enough. Why I said it wasn't for me has nothing to do with it being PC, I just don't like juggeling two game systems in part, and I prefer shooters with a controller in my hand. Its just I don't like cyberpunk. Its like blade runner, I hear it said that movie is so good etc, but honestly it bored the crap out of me, the style of Dr Who is also why I can't bare to watch it for long.. When it comes to Scifi I'm more of a SG-1, Star Wars, Starship Troopers sort. Though funny enough I enjoy the lore and such of Warhammer 40k.

zomg this again.
Future where mankind has anti grav billboards, floating citys, guns that fire balls of energy, and yet has continued to hold onto cruddy looking warehouses circa 1939. Hollywood has a lot to answer for.

This is what we get because gaming companys continue to hire morons from the film industry. Gaming is not movies, the use of existing structures for an outdoor scene is not needed in a total CG envioron.

The use of existing architecture was considered a necessary evil by Film Studios looking to save a few bucks and thanks to art school wankers and commercial spin has somehow become an aesthetic.
Screw this game.Image IPB

Most of Europe has managed to hold onto buildings that are several hundred years old. In the near future, we won't be walking around in a place like the citadel.

Those old buildings considered historically valuable will be inside modern domes for conservation purposes. Or inside larger more modern complexes like, shopping centres.
If it wasn't for a long tradition of tourism there would already be a block of flats on the Acropolis.
Tell me what is historically significant about the warehouse in the op.

Yes! I heard about this game the other day and was meaning to look into it. I know Harvey Smith, one of the creators of Deus Ex is heavily involved with the project. The art design is reminiscent of the original Deus Ex. Futuristic but not in a Jetson's futuristic kind of way with robots and neon lights everywhere.

I remember in Deus Ex Invisible War there were many locations there that I thought looked like great places to live. The original Deus Ex on the other hand was one of the most miserable portrayals of the future I have ever seen.

This game is a must buy for me and I will be pre-ordering. Long live Deus Ex, the greatest game of all time. They should have ported it to the Dreamcast though.

Wait a minute...one of the original creators of Deus Ex is involved? Why didn't Eidos Montreal get a hold of that guy? Ironic he's working on this project, and its not even an RPG.

Also, I think this is a Polish dev making the game if I'm not mistaken.

Looking at that gun and reading the media release I can postulate that this game is Unreal tournament meets Section8 set outside the Bradbury building, the gameplay will most likely reflect that. I am not optomistic about this title.

Pros: Cyberpunk, PC only, good graphics, made in Poland
Cons: "only" FPS, made in Poland

Looks good. Hopefully, it does not have regenerating health.

After the last video game treatment Shadowrun recieved I tend to taste bile when I hear FPS and cyberpunk in the same sentence, but if the controls are fluid, the gameplay is interesting and the enemy AI is there I'll keep an open mind about it.

That looks pretty cool. Do I have to have it shipped from Japan though?

Oooh. I like that game's graphics. Very old school and cozy looking sprite work. The house interiors are lovely. I passed on "Recettear" since the premise did not appeal to me much, but a platformer is worth a second look.

As for "Hard Reset", I doubt I will be picking that up. Not really into FPS titles unless they have an interesting gameplay or story hook to draw me in. Nothing about this game screams that yet.

Seagloom,  you might be interested in these games.

Dungeons of Dredmor  <--- Roguelike
Breath of Death VII Released with bonus content
Cthulhu Saves the World Released with bonus content

What's even better Dungeons of Dredmore is only $4.69 and Breath of Death and Cthulu can be bought in a double pack for $2.69.

I looked into those. That package deal is worth it for "Cthulhu Saves the World" alone. XD I'm unsure whether to get that or Dreadmor. I like cute, but three comedy games in a row might be pushing it. Thanks for the links.
