1. Elder Scrolls V:Skyrim - Because I been waiting for this for so long now.
2. Battlefield 3

the witcher 2 is the only standout among the new 2011 releases i've bought this year...

dragon age 2/crysis 2/la noire/duke nukem forever have all been underwhelming, tho at least DNF was fun while it lasted

thank god for the games coming out in the 2nd half of the year

Seems like Witcher 2 is the current pick for most folks here.. Really interesting to see how Skyrim fares out. Hopefully it lives up to the hype.

DA2 is the only game I remember buying this year. I enjoyed it but its no GOTY. I predict Skyrim for GOTY followed by Arkham City and Deus Ex.

GOTY of games already out:
Witcher 2 so far.

I'm reasonably sure it'll certainly be RPG of the year for me, but GOTY will probably be Battlefield 3 (although I haven't played it yet)

You're thinking of Ego Draconis perhaps. Dragon Knight Saga is the remake of that game that came out in March or April of this year.

DKS edition is the full game, Ego Draconis (original) + Flames of Vengenace (expansion). They released both the expansion and the DKS edition at the same time more or less. FoV was later patched so that it was equivalent, as DKS changed some aspects of gameplay, such as enemy difficulty balance.

I haven't liked any game so far to give it my personal GOTY, they were either good but not GOTY material or I just absolutely detested the game.

The entire game is also redone on a new engine and looks 1000% better than the original. That's why I'm sort of treating it as new. Kind of like the forthcoming Halo remake.

This thread is about 2011 GOTY. In my country, the game came out in 2011. For me, it's a 2011 release.
