Is there any way to hide the character circles and other elements on the screen when needed? I'm putting so many hours into this game my plasma tv is showing some ghosting of the HUD. I read somewhere you can on the PC version, but didn't see it mentioned in the game booklet.
I guess if there isn't, Feature Request: Ability to set the opacity level of the HUD

Yeah, I had some serious ghosting on my LCD. Circles on the upper left hand corner, and squares on the lower right hand corner plus a few other random burns. Had to pick up a pixel fixer dvd to clear it all up. Still was annoying when I was watching tv to see phantoms of DAO.

I would like to vote for this to be considered as an FR either for the next major release or included in a console patch. Either an opacity control for the HUD, an option to disable the HUD altogether (including the mini-map), or have it fade out or disappear during exploration and then reappear during combat.
Currently I set the auto shutdown timer to an hour and leave it in cleaning mode after each session to try and manage it, however this uses a lot of unnecessary power and doesn't really get rid of the images altogether. A game with a HUD designed for longterm TV use is one of those subtle considerations and conveniences for console players which I always appreciate.

Taking a break to watch movies instead of playing fixed the ghosting... which is more of a TV issue than it is a game issue. If it were any other game i'd simply game less hours per sitting. Just can't put this one down though.

Topic is a bit old, but I would like to see this feature added in as well!

Yeah, I would like this option too, as I don't want my 46" plasma ruined. The circles on the screen and the squares in the bottom-right are far too static and bright. I get too much image-retention after playing DA:O for lengthy periods of time.

I see that this is an issue with Plasma TVs, but LCDs? As far as i know LCD TV is built to handle stress with picture burning.

I play on a 32 inch LCD TV from sharp, I don't have any problems, well game problems I do, often a characters dialogue will appear on screen since I have subtitles on, but they will not speak it, or there mouth will move to early.
