In case some PC players haven't seen the announcement in the PC Tech forum, the next patch for Dragon Age: Origins has been released as a public beta. It is designed to correct the DLC authorization issues many have experienced.
Please note that this is a *beta* version of the patch... while it fixes DLC issues, some users have reported increased load times and transition times in the game. The developers have decided to release this beta patch to gather more data to be used in preparing the final release.
You can read the complete announcement from Rob Bartel and find a link to download the PC 1.05 Beta Patch here:

As the first post says, the patch is designed to fix DLC issues.
I've played the game through several times with only a few hiccups. Most of those were the result of a corrupted video driver. I've always used Win 7 x64.
While the DLC issues fixed in the beta patch don't affect everyone, they do affect a vast number of PC users, or at least of those who post in the PC Tech Forum.

Do you guys intend to patch the Xbox version as well? I understand that this new patch is designed specifically with the DLC issues for the PC in mind but the Xbox version is still riddled with bugs.

Does this patch only fix Windows-related issues or would Mac users benefit from it, too?

Wow massive loading times. I mean not just one region to another, going from one instance to another. I have recently just started playing this and i was going from floor to floor in the tower near the beginning of the game and it was taking a good few minutes between each to load.

Absolutely shameful how long this has been going on and the length of time that it's taking to correct it. Speaks volumes about the depths that Bioware has sunken to under the Evil Arts banner. Which is an even bigger shame.

Without money, Bioware can't adequately patch or update our beloved "DragonAge-Origins" game.
But Bioware's $tight-fisted$ owner, EA (Electronic Arts) has apparently abandoned this game.
So if the Game survives at all, it'll be "Thanks" to the dedication of a few Bioware people and the Modding community that brings out new mods.

WHEW!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been trying for two days to get DAO to work correctly.
Problems:
1. Downloaded from Amazon... TWICE, and it still messed up.
2. Then downloaded from Origin which was faster and more efficient and it worked!
3. DLC did not authorize though.. <_<
4. After reading through forums and forums and threads of forums about the problem I come across 1.05 BETA.
5. Well the beta link was bugged so I googled.
6. Then the download and install corrupted so I redownloaded.
7. BSOD.
BUT 8! YES 8! Installed the patch correctly, loaded the game, BAM! Got my DLC! Feelin' like a boss..
