Its would be like not killing archdemon in Origins... The event is just too important to be optional.

I have to disagree.  While the destruction of the Kirkwall Chantry is what forces Meredith and Orsino to come to blows, I feel that it could have been handled differently.  Orsino and Meredith were going to draw blood regardless of the Chantry's destruction, Meredith simply used this scenario as support for her claim against the influence of blood magic.  If Anders was killed or exiled before he had an opportunity to set the bomb or cast the spell or whatever in the hell he did, perhaps Bioware could've created another scene where more bewitched or enthralled templars were discovered, which caused Meredith to finally decare Annulment.  It would've been easy to find another spark to set the battle into motion, in my opinion.

Just figured I should ask this since no one has brought it up that I know of? Did anyone at least find the name of this thread semi funny? "Anders Outcome" hehe.

What? How? I don't get it...

Good point, but I wouldn't change a thing. My love for the Qunari and hatred for Sister Petrice made me relish her death scene.

And if you play a Hawke that recognizes the qunari for the pestilence they are, Elthina's "stepping in when it's time" is firing Petrice after she murders Seamus to incite a bunch of idiots with pitchforks to attack a battalion of armed and trained Stalinist monsters. That's right, absolutely no repercussions beyond losing her job. I guess the appropriate punishment for Quentin would just be to scuff up his favorite robe or something.

I disagree.  Elthina is the only person in the "Meet the four most important people in Kirkwall!" achievement that I could stand.  I normally dislike the Chantry's harsh views of the world and those who wish to find solace outside of their beliefs, but Elthina, in my humble opinion, made the best case for the Chantry I've seen in the DA world yet.  I especially love when Meredith and Orsino are fighting in the Gallows and, when asked of her opinion, (if I remember correctly) she states how the Chantry never intended for it to elevate to this.

Then you didn't think about it long enough (as you haven't on the totalitarian oxmen) if you didn't see her "neutrality" act as the mound of bull**** it is. It's her job to make sure the templars under her command are following at least the Chantry law if not municipal law. Her being "neutral" is about the same thing as a cop calmly drinking his coffee while a burly biker rapes and murders a little girl a few feet away. The watchers don't have an option to be neutral, them being neutral is automatically taking the side of whoever has the most power but not having the balls to admit it. There's two differences between Elthina and Meredith. The first is that Meredith has some mitigation of guilt due to psychological trauma about her sister and later the idol poisoning her mind. The second is that Meredith has the guts to do what she believes must be done and own up to it.
