you can have choice by not retconning established characters to do it. BW makes a new female character to romance fshep. So you get to pick between her, Kelly, Liara and if they make an Asari fling there's your choice.

Liara is my favourite character so I was already happy with the f/f option. But there are people that don't like Liara (strange people that I don't understand) and want another f/f option. I don't see that it would be a retcon for Miranda to be a s/s option in ME3, she never told FemShep "bugger off, I'm straight" so I don't think her feelings towards FemShep have been established.

Here's my rank of the three female LI's in ME3.

1. Jack: Is the most likely and believable bi option in the game because she has a history of having sex with women and she states that she doesn't have a boyfriend or a girlfriend... that hints right there that she's had 'relationships' with other women than just the one we know of.

Tali: She could be a believable Bi option not because she seems bi as a character but because she worships Shepard. You could easily say that Tali was too shy to ask Femshep if she felt that way about her because she didn't want to be seen as weird.

Miranda: There's nothing to even hint at her being Bi and to me it would feel like Anders who never showed a bit of Bi activity in Awakening and then is suddenly hitting on maleHawke.

I dont get why you guys are so held up by there was no hint of miranda being bi of course there was not this is the first game that same sex romances have been in the game same also goes for a retcon it cannot be as there were no same sex romances

and she does not have to be bi maybe it will be a one off thing who knows but as she said in mass effect 2 she knows shepard better than anyone after rebuilding her

plus we dont know how much her father has messed her head up where men are concerned I also figured that every man she trusted has let her down even tim has in mass effect 3 from what we know

What's with the facination to make all these characters bi/gay? Whatever happened to letting the story unfold and be okay with what comes from it? This isn't the point of this thread but it is relative to it, but doesn't anyone else feel making all LI's the same sexuality leaves some of the mystery and uniqueness out of that character? Also to those who want a miranda for s/s do you want it to make sense or do you want it in the game even if it doesn't make sense? Let's leave it to a new squad member and maybe VS and leave it at that.

Hahaha, it's fine if they're all heterosexual...but make them all bisexual and all of a sudden they lose their 'uniqueness' and 'mystery'.

To answer the question, 'no' as I feel what makes these characters interesting/unique/mysterious/etc. has nothing to do with their sexuality.  No different from what I feel about my real life friends.

That's cool and all but I really don't want to see threads whining because all the characters weren't made to fit certain people's interests. I'd laugh if BW didn't announce who the LI's were and made the players play the game but ooh well. I don't want basically every character to want to be with shepard (why aveline in DA2 was refreshing) that's fine I guess if some do but it's also fine if I don't.

I don't think people understand how romances work in these games...I honestly don't.

Imma break it down for ya.

1) BW devs write dialog and record VO for a handful of romance options in every game.
2) The player can then choose which one he or she will pursue, often ignoring the other ones. In pretty much every case, pursuing multiple romances fails...you can only end up with one.
3) If you choose to ignore a given romance, you can continue to be 'just friends' with that squad mate.

What people want is more options for romance, not more choices. People want to be able to romance their fave LI with 'their' Shepard (be they male or female) and leave the remainder as friends. Most don't want to play intergalactic pimp and romance most of or all of the options.

It doesn't change the fact that you wanted to romance a character with your Shepard and you did romance the character you wanted because you had that option available to you. And now you want that option to be unavailable to others.

you can't make everyone happy sadly. I'm sure there is someone who wanted to save saren but was that an option in the game? I'd like to avoid every character wanting shepard sorry.
