I'm gonna be getting a 20eu card.
With it i could buy DA2 Legacy&Ratchet and clank Size matters+something minor/BFBC2 shortcut/avatar
Or DA:A
I like DA but LOVED R&C when i was a kid.
Having second thoughts about Legacy even thought i like DA2 10$ for an 6 hour max dlc and 1 decent new weapon is nay.
On the other hand Awakening seems kinda slow now that i've played DA2 and honestly, the skill trees SUCK,especially the new ones.
Right now the only thing im sure of is R&C,i'm cautious about DA DLC.
halp!!!
Should i buy Awakening

Awakening is a good purchase. It adds about 30 or so hours to the DA:O universe. If you're one for action and have accustomed yourself to the DA:II style of play rather than the slow, auto-attack, plot-driven story of DA:O, then you may want to purchase your other choice, instead. Personally, I love Awakening. Bioware amped up the raunchy banter and the new companions, especially Sigrun, are fantastic.
You'll also meet Anders prior to the events of DA:II and the spirit of Justice he merges with before the two become one.
If Wynne survived DA:O, you'll be able to meet up with her and check in, and you'll also get a nice regroup with Wade and Herrin. (And Herrin actually speaks to you now!) And, everyone's favorite Ginger-Dwarf, Oghren, makes a return. ^^
Plus, you get to see Amaranthine and Arl Howe's old home. Completing Awakening and loading your save game into DA:II also unlocks some bonus features, such as a return of an Awakening character in a side quest. Finally, you'll get to see what being Warden Commander is like. You're the new Duncan of Amaranthine!
It's up to you, but Awakening is well worth the price and, for an achievement junkie such as myself, the extra 250 gamerscore added to your profile!
Happy gaming!
Yet another edit: The talent trees (Shadow, Spirit Guardian, etc.) that you claim to "suck" aren't all bad. In fact, one of the mage trees and one of the rogue trees were added to the DA:II specs. And Legionare Scout, if I remember correctly, is a fantastic rogue tree.

I think you've persuaded me,part of the reason i like DA:O is because you were "the man".
shame about R&C though.
More posts would be appreciated!

I know what you mean! In DA:O, you were someone to be feared and respected. You quelled the Blight for Maker's sake.
In DA:II, who's Hawke? A refugee from a washed-up nobility line with a reputation of magic. Sure, you take out some bosses and become a "somebody" but you're still just as skilled as the next human.
In DA: Awakening, the motif of being someone important is doubled as, not only are you a warden, but you're the Warden Commander. People answer to you and seek out your help specifically because of your reputation in Ferelden.

You won't regret your choice
I got into Dragon Age Origins AFTER I bought Dragon Age II when it came out. I liked DAII but felt like it was missing something. I then looked into getting Origins and saw the Ultimate Edition was only $30 so I decided to buy it. One of the best things I could have done. I fell in love with the game and its story and having played FFXI I didn't mind the auto-attack system that they had. IMO the story was amazing and just like how I fell in love with Miranda from ME2 and romanced her I did the same with Morrigan. Bioware needs to make a new Dragon Age that will continue the story of your Warden.

Good choice! I can't tell you how many Origins characters I played but I love putting them through Awakening. I have found more replayability in DAA than DA2, but YMMV.

I love Awakening. There's a few bugs but most games have bugs so it's no biggy. Just make sure you quick save often.
I'm not even through with Awakening yet, I've been playing it for 3 days.

Awakening is brilliant, definately get it. Getting DA:2 stuff is... well nowhere near the value of getting DA:O stuff

I quite like Awakening. The only thing I didn't like was how they didn't really do much with the romance if u were a female noble and you married Alister. I mean, hes only shown once, but, no kiss? *Sigh* besides that little "thing" its quite worth it

Hello all. I just purchased DragonAge Origins/Awakening but am on a Mac. Previous to buying I did a big of googling to see if DAO was mac compatible and with what I saw, it appeared to be so. But now I find it's far more complicated than I care for to find out how to make it work.
I did read the Mac section here but that place seems to have been abandoned.
Can someone direct me to an updated advice section on how to d/l a mac version, using the key I have with my PC purchase today?
dang, I thought I'd be playing by now, but have to do these acrobats.
Thanks in advance, sorry if I am in the wrong section for this, first time posting and easy to get lost here.

Well, the macintosh is a complicated piece of technology. Alot harder than a windows 7. But, if all you have to do is install adobe readers......then here is the link for them:

I dont think I helped much but I tried

Rawr: I liked that about DA2 though.. you bring yourself up from nothing as a refuge, and make your own path. In DA:O, while you did technically come from a horrible situation, Duncan and the Grey Wardens slap an awesome title on you and I think it's a bit of a crutch. In DA2, you have to use earn it over several years, and have it all taken away again. That's more realistic/political.

I just finished last night - I liked it.
Loved my letter from Zev -helped take away the very sad empty feeling I had wandering around without him with a bunch of newbs. Every now and then Id stop and open it up and read it again just to feel close to him again.... not sure what the others can do.
Going to re-do alternate ending to see the difference tonight.

Hold on. Before you fire up Awakening for the first time, you need to be aware of a number of bugs that could seriously cripple the gameplay for you.
Take a look at this article and take note of a few things:
dragonage.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Age:_Origins_-_Awakening_Bugs/Glitches
Be especially careful of the Silverite Mine bug - you could lose all of your Warden's equipment because of it.
Also, DO NOT do the quests Law and Order or Smuggler's Run quests until AFTER you do Sigrun's personal quest. Doing either of them will prevent you from ever being able to do Sigrun's Roguish Past.
I know I might've stepped on some toes by posting this in a non-spoiler forum, but I think it's important that people know about this. These bugs could spoil the entire experience of the expansion for many players if they're not told beforehand - much worse than a few story spoilers, I'd wager.
EDIT: One more thing - make sure you do the main quests in the following order: Last of the Legion, The Righteous Path, and Shadows of the Blackmarsh. Doing them in a different order could screw up your game badly.

Yeah, I liked Awakenings, it was nothing more than a quick release giving us an excuse for a load more combat, and an opportunity to play with our stats.
Without pretense, it did both of those, and was worth it because DA:O combat was just so excellent.
