I went to start a new game today and when I got to the character creation screen my character preset was stuck, the slider wouln't move, so I could only have the default Hawke. What I mean.
All of the other drop menus are working normally.

Any help or insight here would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Does this happen even if you exit the game and try making a new character again?

Yes, I've tried restarting the game and making new characters a few times, different classes, both male and female.

Got any mods installed? They often cause issues such as this.

Yes, I do. So, I poked around a bit and it turns out I installed one of them improperly and messed up the xml file in my override folder. It took all day but I've fixed the problem and the file so the game works just as it's supposed to.

I'm having a similar issue but I don't have any mods installed, does anyone know what the problem is, I go to the mirror of transformation but I only have the options for the presets and I can't modify my hawke at all.

Without the recommended problem report information, no one is able to offer more, sorry. Read the stickies, follow their advice. Do not insult the resident readers by telling them you know more than they do.  If you did, you wouldn't have to come here for help.

My computer far exceeds the minimum specifications for the game.

I'm running Windows 7 Home edition.
I did install the Hi Resolution textures.

Details about your problem.
1. What is the nature of the problem you are seeing?
      I can't even click on the sliders to adjust my character's appearance for Dragon Age 2

2. When did the problem start occurring?
     
I always used the default Hawke before so I guess the problem has always been their.

3. Where does your problem occur?
      I've tried to change the sliders at the beginning of the game and then later with the Black Emporium but I can only choose between the different presets and not adjust the sliders.

4. What are the steps in replicating the problem?
      My character is stuck with the presets and it always seems to occur.

5. Have you modified your game in any way?
    No, I haven't modified dragon age 2 but I did use an import that used a mod, I don't know if this affects anything.

Just saying your machine exceeds the minimum doesn't work. Sorry, go back and try again, this time list the data asked for otherwise go talk to ea.com support. The data asked for includes machine specs, drivers of all your machine hardware that can effect this, update level of the game, and resolution of your monitor/screen.

Just a minor note, the first two presets of Hawk can't be adjusted, and the sliders only show up after you get past the Hawk with the blood smear on the nose.

It was the fact that I was stuck on the first 2 presets of hawke, thank you very much!
