I just wanna see if I've got this right:

You only get either Finding Nathaniel (Act 3) OR Fool's Gold (Act 2). If you get both, it's a bug.

Silly Awakening plot flags are screwed and, if you chose to save Amaranthine rather than the Keep in Awakenings, the game classes everyone you left at Vigil's Keep as dead, even if you fully upgraded the Keep and the epilogue slides say they survived after all. This is either Awakenings plot flags being screwy, or being mucked around by the later DLC's (Golems and Witch Hunt).

So you only get Finding Nathaniel rather than Fool's Gold if you saved the Keep or took Nathaniel with you at the end of Awakenings (or possibly if you import a save from Awakenings rather than Witch Hunt??).

Also in Finding Nathaniel, Nathaniel always referred to the Architect as being alive, even if you killed him, but this bug has been fixed.

I know there was a problem with the finding Nathaniel quest if you left him at Vigils Keep. There is another thread here from the last few days dealing with the same question and I believe somone posted a link to a workaround there that might be helpful
