That was hinted at strongly enough that I thought it was definite, but it's been a really long time....

I'd say that ship has well and truly sailed. If they ever had any real intention of updates/more content, they would have done something about it long before now.

I doubt they care anymore about all that, or even to stop by and let us know about it.

Well, it seems right now all their primary energies were focused on getting the new DLC out. Perhaps now there will be some down time so that they could focus on this, since it is basically at the low end of the list I imagine. One can be optimistic :P

It's not like it's needed. I can do anything I want so far. Even mod awakening. With ****ty workarounds, yeah, but still doable.

I was not about to wait for Bioware to help out in that area...

I think they will focus on DLC for now, and then go focus on DA3.

They are likely already working on DA3 and no doubt have been for some time (just as work on DA2 started before Origins or Awakening released). DLC is the work of secondary teams, not the main one. In any event, it's unlikely there will be any resources devoted towards the toolset, and it gets even less likely with every day. It's very clear that consoles are the primary development platform now, and they have no need for publicly released toolsets.

I'd imagine any spare resources BioWare has available (and not just the spare ones) are being spent on efforts to release SWtOR Online when it's supposed to be released.

TOR is being developed by the Austin studio. I doubt it has much influence on the Edmonton studio's activities, certainly not as concerns DA and possible toolset updates. In essence it's a whole other company that was started specifically to develop TOR and other MMOs - Bioware in name only for all practical concerns.

But a programmer is a programmer no matter what studio they get assigned to. Purely virtual lines like these are easy to ignore when the deadlines get closer.

Not needed in that sense,no. But I'd like the voice files from Awakening and the locked content from the dlc. That's all I'm really looking for, although some of the cut content would be useful. too.

The Awakening voice files can be found in the Program Files installation path for DAO, in the addins/dao_prc_ep1/module/audio/vo/(language)/vo folder. (Architect and Mother have sounsets in the packages/core_ep1 folder.) As for locked content, unless we can de-binarize the files ourselves we're not likely to have a method of viewing them anytime soon.

Cut content is also nice to see, but after listening to the cut trailer lines spoken by Alistair in the VO folder... I'm not sure...

I tried to get the sound files but wasn't able to. That was a long time ago, so I can't quite remember what the problem was, but I seem to remember that I was unable to get them to play. Any idea what I might have done wrong?

I only want the cut lines to have additional options in using the old lines to create new conversations. Every possible option helps when you have a limited number of lines to work with.

I got the sounds from the npc's dlgs (Anders, Velanna, etc) some weeks ago, in mp3 format.

I can send them to you if that's what you need.

I didnt extract the whole game, because, well, it was too much and i only needed the companions, but i can certainly send anything you need.

You can always convert mp3 to the wav format needed by the game using a program called goldwave (which is free).

Ps. I'm not at my pc right now, but from the top of my head, what you need to do is to drag and drop any fsb file onto one of the .exes (gah, sorry, forgot the name, but i'll edit my post when i'm at my comp) that comes with the toolset installation. If you can't listen to extracted mp3 or wavs, you can again use goldwave.

EDIT: Scrap that. I used the FSB extractor: http://social.biowar.../9/index/295486  once you have them all in mp3, you can create the required wavs (you can do it in bulk) using goldwave: http://www.goldwave.com/

Thanks so much! I'll try doing it myself, because learning is good, but if I can't make it work, I'll take you up on the offer of those files. Too bad we cant get the dialogues since that would have the facial animations attached.... *sigh*

Edit: That worked beautifully! This time, I can hear the files. Thanks!
