I think marriage is optional because some races do not believe in such things (for instance the salarians and the ascari do not have such things).

It will only really happen if they are certain races mainly human but even then I do not think I would want this to happen during the main story of the game.

Maybe afterwards if you agreed to get married before you get to see the wedding if you succeed in saving the galaxy which would act as a send off to the characters of the series like they did in Star Wars Episode 6 - Return Of The Jedi when you see them celebrating for defeating the Dark Lord.

Hey now, people get worked up about the word marriage. Let's stick with civil union.

I think weddings should be left to fanfic and our imaginations.

I don't mind the thought that Shep can make a more solid commitment to their LI by sharing a room/home base, but I think BW should leave anything beyond that open for the player to fill in.

There could be a conversation choice where maybe something more is alluded to (proposal, children, whatever), but it should just stay there and not go beyond some dialogue choices.

I got it: marriage DLC. Why not? It counters the argument that it takes away from the game because they could have the developers work on it after finishing the final product of the game. They'd have enough time to develop one for each LI and they could even charge for it because I'm sure more than enough people will buy it.

The asari have bond ceremonies, which would be like a marriage ceremony.   While on Illium, the two asari that were complaining about Erinya and her being a 'pureblood' and how she is part of the problem because she married another asari.  Even the dossier for Samara at the SB base and what she gave up a bond ceremony dress along with her four bed room house and other items.  So yes, asari get married.

Romantic conclusion to the game shoudl be included, but I like your idea about a full-blown marriage specifically.

Why not though it most likely won't be worth it for me, if it's a single and relatively expensive dlc featuring wedding or conclusion scenes for all possible romances. Since I will most likely only have FemShep and MShep with Liara and possibly FemShep with the new female lead I  feel like I'd never be getting my money's worth out of it, if they make and sell the conclusion DLC for each Li seperately then yes sign me up for Liara at the very least.

Eh, add it to some post-game missions DLC, which is what I'm seriously rooting for. You know, one lat epic journey, and then if you want, you and the hubby can make it official. Or something.

I don't know. I just want to launch orbital strikes against slavers, is that so bad?

OP, what do you consider a marriage? To get an actual marriage license is going to be impossible. I presume you think they will just have a unofficial ceremony sometime late in the game.

I just think that it would be largely unnecessary. A simple I love you would do. There are plenty of options to exert just as much emotion as a marriage.

Like in Pirates of the Caribbean where they say their marriage vows during the last sword fight.

Seriously don't do that. But if you can work marriage in without it being incredibly cheesy than I guess it could be ok.

That was one of the cheesiest scenes ever. Attack of the Clones marriage was really good, considering how bad the rest of the movie (and Anakin and Padme's romance) was.

I'm all for it, as long as their is no big ceremony or anything. I think it would work better if it just left that kind of thing out. Proposal = yes, Ceremony = no

From what we know, it looks like it will be an option in the game.

I just hope it's a 'military wedding' and not some big-white-dress princess nonsense in a castle that wouldn't fit the the game at all.

Wait, what?

I guess a marriage was confirmed. (just read your other post)

That sounds kind of lame, actually.

I think I woun't be opposed to having an option, at the very least because not many games actually have one - it would be refreshing and a change.
The only marriages in story driven RPGs I can recall is in epilogues of NVN Masque of Betrayer and DA:O if you play female human noble... Correct me if I'm wrong.
If ME3 breaks with the "marriage fear" and gives us an option it would be nice.

Marrige? No.
Marriage? Still no!
Civil union? Hell no!

I'm Commander Shepard and I support no Sims3 in ME3.

I am all for marriage at the end of the fight or like Pirates 3 during the end of the fight Image IPB.  Shepard should not be dealing with all the family stuff while preparing the galaxy against the Reapers however.  That would just be silly.  But since I did promise Liara marriage and a bunch of blue children, it would be very nice if it was included.

I would prefer ambiguity when it comes to after the relationship.

Hinted-at-happy-endings for those who want it.
Break-ups for those who want it too.
