Agreed. Dark roots would make the hair look more realistic, especially since it'd be unlikely said blonde would be a natural blonde.Chun Hei wrote...
If they have blondes and red heads in ME3 they should be like the girls in my neighborhood. Lots of dark roots showing.

Mass effect 1 and 2 : Ashley, Miranda

Does anyone else want to know where the "eww, blonde, so generic!" attitude came from? I see it all the time on the Internet when any sort of discussion of blonde haired women comes up.

For years blonde women have been held up as the ideal even in Black, Hispanic and Asian communities and I think some are still reacting to that. But it is very silly to complain about too many blondes in Bioware RPGs.

This could easily be avoided by making her blonde hair a somewhat darker shade of blonde instead of the ultralight or bleached blonde hair that used to be and sometimes still is the ideal for certain women.
The only real reason for this probably is that it's a lot harder to craft and render good looking blonde hair with this game engine than dark hair but if they can find a way to make the new female lead look good as a blonde (hopefully without humongous boobies) then why not.

Mass Effect does claim that blonde hair is rare, but if the races are as mixed as the series claims, why are most of the characters and names so Eurocentric in the game? Both Ashley and Miranda are Caucasian brunettes, Kaidan could pass as mixed but looks more Caucasian, even the Middle Eastern Zaeed Messani looks very white. Add that most of the names are English/Anglo-Saxon based, so if most of the characters are Caucasian I don't see why there can't be a blonde squadmate.
Bioware seems to like light haired males (Anders, Alistair, Fenris, Zevran) and dark haired females (Merrill, Morrigan, Miranda, Ashley), the exception being red-haired females (Aveline, Leliana). If we are going to have more dark haired characters at least let them be Asian, Hispanic or Black (and look it).
Apparently redheads appear in Mass Effect more than blondes (Kelly Chambers, Chloe Michel, various NPCs) yet red hair is more rare than blonde based on genetic studies.
So yes, considering most Bioware characters will be Caucasian (due to the fanbase and game lore, which isn't a bad thing but I'm just stating), I certainly think BOTH series deserve a lovely blonde woman. :-) Maybe Dragon Age 3 and ME3 will treat us with such a lady?

Kahlee Sanders is blonde too. Thing is, there is some kind of genetic thing that has made all blonde humans near extinct.

There are no blonde woman in the squad ever?
There needs to be a blonde woman, based on Lucy Pinder, with a hair colour change, out in the squad, that males and females can romance, agreed?
Completely agree with you. Absolutely. No I'm not being sarcastic either, I just feel emphasis is needed. Especially with the whole Lucy Pinder part.
Glad I am getting support, that blonde woman helped with Miranda, Bioware please please do the same with Lucy Pinder, come on... I mean look at her

Blame Hollywood. With few exceptions, blonde is what they shoot for, and after a certain point it gets annoying. Plus not everyone comes from places where blonde hair is what you find attractive, and thus don't understand the desire.

OT: Queen Anora is my favorite blonde BioWare character. If they introduced a character with her looks and personality into Mass Effect I would be very pleased :-).

Blondes are overrated.
This x1000. The last thing we need is another generic hot blonde character, after all it's not like every single other movie/show/franchise has one. Or two. Or three. Or an entire cast of them in some cases.
Having blonde hair doesn't necessary mean that this woman should fall in the "hot blonde bimbo" stereotype.
Let's be real here. If they're a blonde....there's 99% chance they'll end up as a stereotypical one. Never fails.

Sigh...If she had big boobs then she would slap herself and others in the face all the time when she had to do anything but stand still. Not good for peace in the galaxy.
I disagree. Who could fight when that was going on?
*raises hand* Not everyone is a dude, ya know.
Women? On the internet? Clearly, this poster is hysterical.
