Urgh, I can't really find much I personally find aesthetically pleasing about this guy but my opinion is sort of dependent on what he's supposed to be. He looks like a total meathead Gears of War extra, which is fine and dandy if that's essentially who he is. If he's supposed to be a new romance option though, bleagh. It might be funny for about 2 seconds if you made Snooki Shepard to go with, but otherwise...do not want.
His pants are pretty cool though, I'll give him that.
Edit: his pug nose and long upper lip are really bothering me :
Please tell me how Vega is in anyway related to the guys on Jersey Shore. I'll give you Gears of War, but I don't see how that's a bad thing.
For me it's that he looks like the kind of guy Snooki would go for (a "gorilla juicehead" in her words).

Yeah, the two on the left are pretty buff and none of them have mashed piggy faces. I'd take any of them over Vega atm.
Again, why does every character ever in the existence of every Bioware have to be conventionally attractive? Or even attractive?
Because its fantasy.
@ Anarya.
I really like your Viva La Revolucion picture...mind if i steal it?
You may. I made it for general forum use.

Huh, well I never bothered watching Jersey Shore, but that does sound like something she would say

I will say, he does have that "fresh" and "green" look about him. Hopefully he won't be another Jenkins, but someone who is similar in that sense of innocence.

He's about the same size as the guys on that show who proudly claim steroid use. I doubt he's supposed to actually BE a steroid user in game, but my post is about what he comes off looking like to me and apparently a lot of others.

I can see that, but there are just naturally bulky guys out there and per the game's lore, we've developed gene modification it seems in a hundred years. Artificially or naturally, there are bulky guys that don't fit the jarhead stereotype.

I dunno why that keeps coming up, there are NFL and rugby players that have similar builds to Vega.

You forget that Shepard has been upgraded by Cerberus. It's probably the reason why he can fire the Claymore without breaking his arms.
Didn't they say he was to be exactly how he was? So no upgrades?
Anyway, I hate the Marry Sue stuff going on with Shepard, he's human at the end of the day, not Superman.
I believe they meant mentally. Shepard does have upgrades. TIM mentions it in one of the early conversation options.

Deal with it.
If he actually resembled those guys in the bottom picture, I would be pleased.
But he doesn't. He looks like an unnecessary caricature of those guys. His proportions still need tweaking.

Yeah, and Shep can even bring it up first.
And then all of the research that Shep can do also in ME2, by ME3, Shep can have many augmentations by then.
Edit: need some commas and such
