I usually have Twitter up to check BioWare tweets, but for some reason I had it down just now.
James Vega is so awesome, it crashed Twitter for you.

Any ideas for a VA?
So far I like Ron Perlman, and we have the Sniper in St. James Tower also, as an alternative.

If Vega was older ( I think he's suppose to be youngish? may be wrong) Ron Perlman would be awesome (Vega would then need to smoke a cigar it just wouldn't be right unless he did:wizard:) but I really can't think of anyone.
I wouldn't want his voice to be super macho, maybe a bit gruff

I find most Bioware fans are NEVER happy with anything, if he looks too good, he's labelled gay. If he looks war torn, he's labelled ugly. So quick to dimiss a character we haven't even spoke to yet, this guy could be cooler than Wrex and Garrus put together, although being human they will say he's boring, no matter how good his personality is.

His face doesn't scream heavy combat experience.. there's something 'light' about it... either that, or he is experienced... but that experience scarred him for life, lol.

He's made to look like a normal marine, but these people dont want realism in there games, no, they want a Calvin Klein model. Becuase he's built they call it steroids, clearly these people haven't been to a gym once in there lfe.

He doesnt look normal. No one is saying that he looks ugly, we are simply station that his overall character design reeks of the dudebro-iness we see in so many shooters. His oversized chest, grotesque arms and caveman like face just don't bode well regarding it's actual character.
I mean, what is Bioware trying to build with a character like that? Why waste a squadmember with a dudebro space marine?

Compared to everyone else, he looks pretty typical, and you guys are generalizing him because of how he looks. That's shallow by defintion. We don't know he's a dudebro space marine because we don't know his personality, his VA, or his skills. Only his looks and backstory. Stop jumping to conclusions.

Bioware have already said hundreds of times Vega is the newbie whose entire purpose is to give real-life newbs to the series a character to identify with.
He's a young inexperienced soldier and all this space stuff is new to him. And everyone else's Shepards get to be his babysitter. Joy of joys.

Then you are new to this forum.
I'm not saying he looks perfect, but I see what Bioware are trying to do, people complained Jacob and Miranda were over sexualised, so I assume they want to make a more realistic marine.
I was mostly refering to the fact that no matter what Bioware do, someone will ****** and moan about it.
I''m not 100 percent sold on his look, but I'm not going to dismiss him until the game is out, and I get to see his personality.

What he looks like isn't THAT important. What is important is that he's a well developed character because quite honestly the Normandy is alreadly crowded with enough personalities. Vega is going to have to stand out without being another badass or goody goody.

Yeah, his voice should be gruff at least.
If any degree of machismo, I doubt he'd ever leave the ship if he's a permanent companion.

I actually think the way he'll stand out is by not standing out.
He's a soldier, wanting to do the right thing, no intricate ties to politics or royalty. Or saved the universe once before etc etc Nothing beyond being a good soldier, in the wrong place, at the wrong time, and he'll probably become a hero.
That to me actually makes him seem a hell of a lot more interesting. Call me crazy if you will, but I'm really hoping he's just a down to earth average
