James Vega is actually a British rockstar, who tired of his shallow quality life due to them repeated use of psychedelic substances, decided to join the Alliance and redeem himself, hoping that, while serving others, he might actually discover the true meaning of life.

His old days as a famous rockstar of course have left some scars, the tattoo being one of them.

James Vega is known to entertain the rest of the crew of the Normandy SR2 with the tunes of the good old days, the 70s and the 80s.

As in, the 2170s and the 2180s.

I like him, his head is in a weird position but I assume he'd look a lot better in the game itself. Though comparing him to Gears of War is hilarious, have you even played those games?

This! Seriously, he is still a far stretch from GoW-land. He just looks built, whereas those guys tend to look like Human bulldozers.

Anyway I have long since made the decision that I'll like Mr Vega regardless of any flak he gets, or his beefcake-like appearance (why discriminate?). I sense awesome is afoot, and the silly hair and somewhat naive/derpy face only makes that feeling stronger.

Just in case I'm deluded however, I may avoid any spoilers regarding him from this point on, in case they ruin it  for me.

Still think he looks a little shifty though     But thats probably because we dont know anything about him yet and Im paranoid about loads of factors that ccould happen in ME3!

The LARGE MOUTH and VERY SHORT NOSE are exactly what is making him look like an ape. Thank you, mineralica!

I hope BW has a history (that I'm unaware of) of changing character designs even after they've released early "official" screens of characters. Because Mr. Vega needs some fine tuning.

In all polls I saw on this site and in all threads, all the time more people wanted Ash. And also I already dont like Vega, just another sexed up human character. And really uninspired, like if he came from Call of Duty...wait, I get it, nvm.

I'm not that impressed, and will wait for the game to render my final judgment.

And the second option was Vega. You will get Ashley eventually. Perhaps Comic Con. Maybe a pulse episode about squad armour customization. It may be a bigger reveal than a simple, tweet.
