If Jack is anything to go by, I'm not worried in the slightest for James' character. Jack wasn't well received. She too was called ugly and too punk. People wanted to censor her with a toggle in the options panel (sound familiar?) but now she's doing pretty well. Perhaps once we see more angles, movement and voice - they say 90% is body language and speech rather then just appearances after all - the beast will turn into the beauty. Typically the characters who generate the most heat upon revelation tend to turn out pretty well.

This is true, when Jack was first revealed I remember all of the comments on her Youtube vid being "Ugh! Why would Mass Effect put this cliche monstrosity into the game! I'm so disappointed in Bioware! I hope I get the option to shoot this b*tch in the face as soon as possible!" but once people actually got to know her I didn't hear too many complaints.

Really, I still here people whining about Jack. She does have a strong fanbase, the people that like her really like her. But she is still very unpopular among the mass audience, as far as I've seen.

I think tbh, he is going to be my new best friend, because I am starting to feel badly for him with the amount of folk who have sentenced him without trial.............

Me too. I like liking things that the majority hates. Iam not sure what you call someone like me.

That's because the "mass audience" are a bunch of mindless teenage boys that were mesmerized by Miranda's ass...

THIS.

It looks like we have a new perfect six-pack in Jacob's place (since I doubt he will be a permanent companion). Yes, I'm drooling, but I shouldn't do it since he's obviously the new s/s romance option. And my Shep is female and hetero. Oh, well.

Nah, his face is ugly but I can live with that, I mean, the Normandy isn't Hollywood and he's not sooo horrible, at least compared to krogan and everything else.

It's also likely that some of those who are shoved into the "mass audience" category don't think much of Miranda either.

The chances he's exclusively gay are unfortunately non-existant, BW will never make an exclusive male gay LI due to 'resources' as they've said...  So you can drool freely :P

Really? I think that there will be at least one character that will be exclusively homossexual since there was some demand for it. But if he is REALLY bi...then maybe, just maybe i'll cheat in ME3 after heroically resist through ME2. xD *Kaidan, please, forgive me, I don't really like him, it's just that...those muscles *-* * lol

I just want there to be a same-sex romance available between Male Shepard and Garrus.

True enough... I know I never thought much of her throughout ME2 other than as the "Cerberus b*tch".
(I'd call her the "Cerberus Cheerleader", but honestly, that always seemed to be Jacob's role in the story) :P

Hot damn. Bioware actually made a physically attractive human male LI. I just hope he's not boring. I want him to be a cocky badass, vastly different from Jacob and Kaidan.

Newsflash: you can get muscles without steroids. Try going to the gym. Vega kills for a living, he needs to look the part.

Funny, I've seen convicted assassins who look nowhere near that, guess they didn't kill for a living after all

I just hope he isn't going to kill the one chance of having a nice m/m romance for MShep, which of course he will, because now that MShep might finally not be totally straight he'll be predefined to like only muscleheads.
