The problem is the guide says to go Drow and I dont like playing as elves. Can I go human or will that mess up the build? Also the guide says short sword I want katana can I change that as well or should I just use another buil?

A link to that guide would be good, but even without seeing it, I can tell you that it's not a good class split. Human should be possible, but a bit worse. Katanas aren't finesseable, plus they're medium weapons, so they're not good as dual wield weapons.

Here is the guide. And it looks like its back to the drawing board again. I beat the OC 2 days ago and ive spent all this time trying to pick a class to run through MotB with

I don't see that build mentioned in the guide. Anyway, I suggest to post your build here (http://nwn2db.com), it will be easier to judge that way.

Edit: Almost anything will work in the OC/MotB, so in the end, you should play whatever you want, even if it's not that powerful.
