My solution for me, In the begining Bioware will make squadmates are hetero and gay or bi for the one episode (mass effect 1).

The problem, now the squadmates who are hetero will be change sexuality for the last episode, I think many people don't like this idea.

Well, yes, that has been true of Bioware games in the past, but I think that someday we will see exclusively-gay love interests in a Bioware game. The demographics of gamers are changing all the time, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bioware decided to "take a risk" on a gay-exclusive romance. I also wouldn't be surprised if such content reflected positively on sales.

Also, let's not forget Juhani! Though her romance was initially "bugged" to allow her to be romanced by a player of either gender, she was intended to be a lesbian, and is canonically considered such.

TBH, I don't care if they ever make an s/s exclusive LI.  I prefer the all bi LI route so people can just do whatever romance they want with their fave LI character.  I don't think sexuality should be made into a 'deal'.

They could also go ahead and make Juhani available to both genders...I don't care...it's a good thing...not everyone liked Bastila XD

It becomes a stretch once you want it done to up to 9-10 characters. If it was 1-4 I wouldn't mind much but really all LI's is just to much.

I actually agree with that and made a post earlier in this thread speaking to this issue.   I don't think they will make all the past ME LIs bisexual nor do I think they should (given game dev limitations with how many LIs there are).   I wouldn't mind if they did, but I don't see them doing it...possibly only a few of them.   As I mentioned, Ashley and Kaidan might be the easiest for them to do.

In a game like DA2, it's diffrerent, as there's only 4 LIs to work with and it's not a huge resource drain to make them all open to both genders.

I don't specifically like the DA2 way (LI's were horrible) but at least I could say it fit there characters other than anders IMO, but if it made sense I wouldn't mind future games having all bi LI's but I would prefer straight/gay/bi LI's. I understand those that want to romance whoever they want with their shepard, but let's let the previous characters stay in character for ME3.

They were neved defined as hetero, they never said it. We know they like opposite gender and that's it. Nothing makes unable to like the same gender as well. Having them like the same gender doesn't change anything. If they're bisexual they still like the opposite gender as well. Everything said and done in ME1 & ME2 remains unchanged.

Adding gay only LI's won't earn any kudos from me.  I gain nothing from locking other people out of content.

Also yes let's forget Juhani.  Nice bone to be thrown at the time but she's not a full LI, was bugged to hell and back and actually is canonically bisexual via Word of God...which is actually Lucasarts on this matter. I know I know not how it's intended but that's how the facts stand as it is.

Well, I liked my DA2 LI so I can't comment much...but I think the romances suffered from lack of dialog (when compared to DA:O) in general which was due to the game being rushed out in under two years (and that has nothing to do with sexuality).

I know people say they want straight/gay/bisexual LIs but that won't happen (no gay at least).  And how would you feel if the most attractive/awesome female was gay only?  And the straight/bisexual options totally sucked?

Yeah, I can see where you're coming from. It's kind of nice when you don't have to worry about gender restrictions when pursuing romantic content, but I still think that it would be nice to see gays, straights and bisexuals all represented in the same game, like it's no big deal. That would be awesome.

If you romance Kaidan in mass effect 1, in this past he said he love the young girl when he vas 17 years old.

I don't lie it's, you can romance with shep girl.

He never said he was bi:mellow:

From my perspective, I think gays are already represented enough (in DA2) due to the fact that we can pursue whatever s/s LI we wish.  That's a huge step.  We usually get nothing or our 'one designated LI and if you don't like them, tough'.

In DA2, gay PCs had as many choices as straight ones and I think that's a big deal for us and it sets the gay PC on equal footing to the straight one.

attractive is in the eye of the beholder. Like I said earlier I wanted to romance aveline (wasn't given an option), I wouldn't care at all if the "hottest" woman was gay because I don't go for looks (although they are nice) I go for personality, so I might be annoyed that a character I would be interested in (ie aveline) wouldn't be romanceable to me, but I wouldn't make threads saying this character should be made to fit my sexuality (which is a thread we are posting in), I'd respect the way that character was written, which I hope everyone would.

This.

If some people have to see gay only characters relegate that to non-LI NPC's. Maybe Gabby really isn't in Ken and would much prefer to romance Kasumi.  Best of both worlds!

Oh, well, I didn't mean it like that... I meant it more in the way of... Heterosexuals are pretty well-represented in the Mass Effect series, and there's even a few bisexual women... I just think that it would be cool if there was a gay man or woman aboard the Normandy. You know? A gay hero for me, the player, to look up to. I think it would be neat. It's great that I'll finally get to play gay male Shepard, but it's kind of lonely being the only gay man in space. Even if I choose not to pursue the hypothedical gay-exclusive romance option, it would still be cool to have him on my team, if only to have a friend who is awesome, kick-ass, and just so happens to be gay.

Well, not necessarily the hottest woman, but the most interesting...you wouldn't feel a bit disappointed if you couldn't romance her?  If this trend continued in most BW games you wouldn't get annoyed?

If Aveline was a romance option but only open to females, you wouldn't be disappointed?  Wouldn't having her as an option add to your game experience?

Has anyone else thought about the fact that if the Virmire Survivor is Bi-sexual and if the VS is also now a Spectre and if Commander Shepard can become intimate with them regardless of gender.Than that would mean that the FIRST and Second Human Spectre are both........... gay.?!

Now I believe,"To each his or her own." and that "The only sexual immoral act is a non-consensual act. :police: But that would be kind of weird, would it not? :alien:

No.

Because that's not how statistics and probabilities work.

regarding DA2 probably (just because the game wasn't polished at all IMO). But in general no, I think it's refreshing to have a character like aveline who I the PC was interested in but they never thought of my PC that way. Like I said though I was disappointed that I couldn't at the very least express interest in aveline but it adds to the realism and although I'd prefer to be able to romance her I respected the way the character was written.

edit: I wouldn't want her to suddenly express interest because it would be out of character (not to mention she's married)

Aveline you can 't romance for this life (his husband his died) and it's logic for no romance, Sten in dragon age 1 is no romanceable also for his culture qunari.
I don't understand why somebody would romance all personn it's not realistic !

You know how many arguments there could be about:

"Kaidan is bisexual"
"No he is straight in my universe"
"No he still bisexual"
"No he is straight"
"No he is bisexual"
"No he is straight and your universe isn't canon"

That should be fun...... not...

Well...yeah...she wasn't interested in my FemHawke either.  I didn't mind so much as I only wanted to do Merrill's romance.

You could flirt with Aveline though.  And she turned you down.  Regardless, it's not as if she had a romance path included and you were only denied b/c you played male...that's different from there just not being a romance at all for anyone.

Personally I don't mind the s/s option. But please not the everyone is Bi option. That was the one thing that I really disliked about DA2. I am curious to see who BioWare chooses for s/s options. To make every LI bi would eat up a lot of resources.
