I wanted to hear opinions if, AND ONLY IF, Kaidan and Ash were to revert to how they were suppose to be in ME1, available to both sexes.
Ashley/Kaidan are Bi? Yes please!

This is NOT a topic to make everyone magically attracted to Shepherd.
It's too late for that. Even the Cerberus second-in-command "Ice Queen" turns into a groupie in Shepard's presense, with minimal role playing involved.
I'm for "bi" options in RPGs for the same reason I'm for allowing the player to buy armor for party members and pick the skills for party member's during level ups. It's an RPG, the more options the better. Apparently "streamlining" is a bad thing except when it deals with s/s romance.
There are fans who want to romance Ashley as a woman and Kaidan as a man. Personally, I play hetero Shepards, but I guess my powers of role playing must be AMAZING since *gasp* someone ELSE being able to have a s/s relationship with the VS, or anyone else, won't faze me in the slightest. Even the infamous "Anders incident" didn't faze me, since I didn't like the character for many other reasons.

No.
New characters can be Bi.
In my honest opinion, I'm not saying all characters should magically be turned bi. I can't see Garrus or Tali suddenly be bi. Ashley and Kaidan yes since the option was scripted already, but scrapped.
It was never scrapped. Kaidan nor Ashley have any same sex dialog. People just pulled files with Meers saying femshep's dialog and assumed there were supposed to be gay romances. You'll note that Kaidan calls Shep a woman. He has no dialog calling Shepard a man in the love scene.

As far as M/M love interests... I can say that it was planned, but as far as I know it was cut due to time constraints. Quite frankly the demand is small. I'm not defending it, but the choice is between a level that everyone will enjoy and a romance that only a minority will enjoy. We did it in Jade so we're not afraid of it; there just isn't enough time.
Sorry to all the gay ME fans

Sure, remind us what was her actual relligion again? Becuase such an educated person as you will no doubt know she might have easily been a member of a church/denomination that fully accepts same-sex relationships, right? Not to mention 200 years from now onNICKjnp wrote...

This is... some kind of glancing argument to the effect that because Ash believes in God, she can't possibly be queer, I assume?
Thank you for saying that. Sincerely! I haven't heard that one in a long time, it's all been "retcon" this and "bisexual invisibility" that. It's very refreshing to hear one of the rarer nonsensical objections. Breaks up the monotony a bit.

As much as I don't want old characters to become s/s options because I think it should have happened before when the original romance is available...I would accept it if Bioware ultimately decided to go that route. However if it is Ashley then it isn't just a simple changing a character to being bisexual. They have taken it a step further that gives a slap to the face of fans of the character who were fans because of the spiritual connection they had with her.
I'm affraid it is a little more complicated than...she can be christian/muslim/jewish and be into femshep. There are other factors to consider than just making another s/s option for femshep.
As for my authority on the issue. This is where I got my BA and the department I graduated from. It is an acredited institution...one of the top liberal arts colleges on the west coast. I am currently working on a nursing degree (like my father...who was gay...before he died) with a goal of becoming a nurse practitioner. I am a liberal Christian. I hate the Christian coalition. I support gay marriage. I believe in a strong seperation of church and state. I believe that marriage is a institution that is practiced by many religions and tha all religions have the right to be recognized in our secular government.

I'm glad I can be attacked for pointing out something that at it's core would effect a christian/muslim/jew who was bisexual. Enough so to make them focus their attraction on memberrs of the opposite sex. And as much as people demand that Christianity/Judaism/Islam will automatically adapt so that Ashley can become attracted to femshep...that is an insult to those who practice those faiths. If Ashley was part a practicing member of a gay sect within the Christian church then sure (but those are very small groups). Furthermore if she was Jewish or Muslim then it wouldn't happen. Period.
There is no such thing as a pro-gay Christian. If you are pro-gay you aren't a Christian. Both the old and new testament condemn it.
However, Ashley never says she is a Christian. Her comments place her into the deist category.

What are you talking about? The only person who condemns it in the NT is "Saint" Paul, the same one who's a fan of slavery. Ain't nobody gonna treat seriosuly what a slavery fan says. And the OT is the same one that says wearing clothes made of mixed fabrics is an abomination. So sorry, you can't be a Christian and tell other people if they're good Christians or not if you wear clothes made of mixed fabrics. The Twilight God wrote...

This description fits even the Flying Spaghetti Monster relligion lol. Seriously, you just want it to be Christianity so you have an excuse why she can't be bisexual (which is a nonsense in itself BTW) but oh wellNICKjnp wrote...
Her reference to God (in the singular form) as well as her reference to an after life when she speaks of her father puts her in the range of being either Christian or Muslim. Her speach and manerisms indicate Christian.

And you just want her to be gay so you ignore everything that implies she is christian/muslim/jewish. I gave you reason....you chose to ignore them. I can't convince beyond something if you have already become dead set on her being bisexual even if there is evidence that would make her much much les likely. And you wanted to know where I go my authority on the subject. I showed you. Now you are trying to debunk something for the sake of debunking it. From now on...I'll just ignore everything you have to say since all you seem to do is both argue and insult.

The point I was obliquely trying to make is that, unless you are a writer for the game, you do not have access to the Absolute Truth of whether or not new religions have arisen or certain groups have branched out or changed their policies by the time of the events of ME1--religions/sects which Ashley could possibly belong to, which could possibly share certain mannerisms or cultural values that you claim Christianity holds a monopoly on.
