We can't discuss religion here.

Nevertheless, religion is relevant in this case because Ashley has a faith.

It's against site rules.

I suggest you take that up with Bioware, and Ashley's writer in particular.

Why would I take anything up with them? I'm sating their rules. Regardless if it's relveant or not, we can't discuss religion. This thread will end up locked because of it.

Yes. If someone respects the verses in Leviticus and Romans and the verse I quoted from Matthew, they would not behave contary to the content of those verses.

My point stands.

No. Because if respecting everything written in the Bible is the rule, then NO ONE is a Christian because EVERYONE wears clothes made of mixed fabrics.

Maybe so, but we aren't actually discussing the finer points of religious doctrine here, but rather whether Ashley should be bi or not based on hypothetical theories about her faith.

A) It's the future
B) I do believe in God and He/She hasn't punished me yet for loving men and women, not that I know of anyway.
I don't have a membership card for any religion, but I sometimes visit catholic churches, when I feel the need to get close to Him/Her.
AFAIK, Ashley hasn't flashed her membership card either.

Have a lovely quote from the great series 'Sugar Rush':
"Kim: [praying] Dear God, please stop me perving over Sugar and help me find me a fit guy to perv over instead. Or if it turns out you're OK with the whole same-sex thing, then stop Sugar messing me about and help her find her way into my bed."

Yes. I've already said that it was the ceremonial law rather than the moral law that was fulfilled on the cross.

I still agree with the others on this. Her religion is never clearly defined, nor are her personal beliefs on this matter. It should be up to the developers to decide, not us, especially when all we're doing right now is not discussing character development or plot, but religion, which will inevitably lead to a flame war.

I assume you are talking to me.

I was merely using myself as an example, that it is actually possible for someone to believe in God and be bisexual.
I didn't think it was necessary to spell it out like that.
You are using your knowledge of religion I am using my experience as a bisexual, who has close ties to the catholic church.
Unless you quote the line, where Ashley names her faith and uses it as a reason to speak against gay love, I will speculate anyway I like, same as you.

I is clear that she is a member of a monotheistic religion. That is the main thing we are discussing. And why we think she should or should not be because of that.

However, her religion is never defined, and religious beliefs can vary greatly, especially in a futuristic or fantasy setting. For example, Leliana was the most devout member of your party, but she didn't have anything against being bisexual. Ashley may be the same way.

Quote, please!
All she says is, she believes in God, same as me and I am currently not a member of any monotheistic religion.

Ceremonial laws come from moral laws. But if you insist, "Saint" Paul is all for slavery. Is that a ceremonial law? Absolutely not. And explaining it as 'well Christianity was prosecuted so we better stay quite while people are being enslaved so we can save our own skins' is just pathetic and unmoral excuse.

She does come close: regarding Liara she says 'at least she looks like a woman'. Make of that what you will.

She references God multiple times. She speaks to Shepard about believing in God. Shepard references her belief in God, an all powerful being, when Ashley is turned paragon in ME1. Ashley refers to praying to God about the loss of Shepard in her e-mail to him in ME2.

Ashley's religion wont stand in the way of her being bi, I know two lesbians who believe in god, and one gay guy who does too.

Still, it's never defined what denomination she is. Religions can vary greatly on what they consider sin, therefore unless it's directly stated what denomination she is, it's impossible to tell what her values are.

The argument about Ashley's possible bi-sexuality being somehow incompatible with her faith is totally ridiculous. Haven't you guys heard about the openly gay Anglican PRIEST?

The vast majority consider's it wrong. Ver very very few denominations of Protestant faiths accept it. Catholicism is against it. Judaism is against it. Islam is against it. So that MUST be taken into account regarding Ashley's sexuality. They made her a character of faith and as such they need to represent that correctly.

Wut? How is her commenting on Liara's womanly appearance a statement against gay love?
