I could care less if Ashley swings both ways, but, it does seem tad sick that people are arguing queers can't be faithful. This is why religion tends to leave a bad taste in my mouth.

Yes. I've already said that it was the ceremonial law rather than the moral law that was fulfilled on the cross.

Ceremonial laws come from moral laws. But if you insist, "Saint" Paul is all for slavery. Is that a ceremonial law? Absolutely not. And explaining it as 'well Christianity was prosecuted so we better stay quite while people are being enslaved so we can save our own skins' is just pathetic and unmoral excuse.

Because the moral law was broken, yes. And just because Paul said that slaves and servants should obey their masters in no way means that he was po-slavery. Everyone is told to obey authority if said authority is not contrary to Scripture, not just slaves. I could go on, but this is getting too religious.

The vast majority consider's it wrong. Ver very very few denominations of Protestant faiths accept it. Catholicism is against it. Judaism is against it. Islam is against it. So that MUST be taken into account regarding Ashley's sexuality. They made her a character of faith and as such they need to represent that correctly.

Whether those religions are officially against homosexuality does not matter at all.  Christian, Jewish, and Muslim gay/bi people always reconcile their sexuality and their faith.

We are talking about Ashley not you.

Unless you quote the line, where Ashley names her faith and uses it as a reason to speak against gay love, I will speculate anyway I like, same as you.

She does come close: regarding Liara she says 'at least she looks like a woman'. Make of that what you will.

Wut? How is her commenting on Liara's womanly appearance a statement against gay love?

For me, it implies that maybe she has reservations about such relations. Loosely maybe, but still.

Actually...the teaching is not that they can't be faithful. It teaches that acting on those desires is wrong...but that part is off-topic of Ashley and whether they are representing people of faiths by having her be a practicing bisexual character.

According to what I've learned on the Bioware Social Network, bisexuals are amoral, promiscuous, godless, and faithless.  Homosexuals are totally cool, as long as they proclaim their orientation the moment you meet them.

Oh, and that's so not homophobic.  Not at all.

If she was hard core of a christian as people are claiming she is,  she wouldn't have screwed Shepard.

So if I enslave you or someone from your family you should obey me? Good to know the Bible says it's cool.

1. Ashley's faith having to do with her sexuality is kind of a non-issue. Believe it or not, as shocking as this may seem to some who think the world and religious beliefs are permanent, religions and religious views evolve with time. There is absolutely no reason whatsoever why religion couldn't eventually come around to accepting homosexuality just like Christianity has come around to accepting a lot of the "sins" stated in Leviticus. It's kind of the beauty of how impermanence works.

2. Even if we went as far as to believe that she's Christian (which is not ever outright stated, but hinted at), there are different denominations that she could belong to. The Religious Society of Friends is an example of a legitimate Christian branch where homosexuality is not often seen as something negative. In fact, the more liberal portions of thise Christian branch have been performing same-sex marriages within their churches for a very long time now.

3. There are plenty of people who have a certain faith that goes contrary to their own daily lives and their actions; doesn't mean much. Believe it or not, there are devout Christian, Muslim, Jewish, etc. homosexuals.

Given how much Christianity has changed over the past couple of hundred years, it's slightly presumptuous to assume anything about what would or would not be considered 'acceptable' by 2185.

@AngelicMastery: You don't have to sleep with her. The relationship is not dependant on that.

Did you even read what I said? I said the Bible advocates obedience of authority where there there is no contradiction to Scripture.

Why have you changed the subject?

Is there a way to romance Ashley with femShep in ME1? I saw a youtube video but can't find a guide or tool set to make it work in game.

Yeah, what happened to Ashley's abstinence until marriage. Isn't that how all god-fearing Christians are? Tsk tsk tsk, is that how BioWare represents religious people? ;-)

There is a way but Ashley refers to Femshep as a male. The same goes for modding it with a mShep and Kaidan...Kaidan refers to mShep as a female.

Yes, I got that, thanks. But since she's apparently not so rigid in her belief as to refuse to go to bed with man!Shep (in fact, she's the one who propositions him), why would it suddenly matter to her with a fem!shep?
