I won't feel too bad about Virmiring Ashley if she was nothing but a hypocritical bigot, but I'm sure she isn't.

How "accepting" of you. But if Ashley wants to bang FemShep that would be another matter, right?

Uhmm... yes? Don´t punch me please :(

All I'm saying is that some Christians dissaprove of homosexuality but are quite willing to have hetero sex before marriage.

Oh, so she's a hypocrite.

Yep. Or it was scripted because of the potential backlash there would be if the relationship wasn't consumated.

For whatever reason it was added, I'm glad it was.

I like that Ashley has her own personal flaws, failings, and foibles. In the end they make her all the more likeable because they make her more real.

Considering Sexuality is a genetic trait and not a learned one then using religion as an arguement against Bisexuality or Homosexuality for certain characters in Mass Effect is a fail arguement.

Massive Fail.

Sure, but I don't think that would work out well for any sort of Shepard.

Seriously, how has this topic not been locked by now?

Yes, they really need to lock this thread. There is already a thread to discuss this topic, a very popular one at that.

Unless we return to the original topic and end the flame war, it will be locked quite soon.

Nah, Eronomos is due to show up any minute with a huge response which I am honor-bound to repond to.

Ignore me, nobody knows why, even scientist... my experience points to environmental influences and past actions.

These arguments are tiring. I doubt anyone can change what Bioware has in mind now.

I think ipgd meant that personal experiences and guesses don't prove anything, so you really can't use them in an arguement.

Which is correct.

I wasn´t trying to prove anything, I said that my experience points to this, not that "this" is the true. Scientist don´t know which one has more influence in sexuality I was implying that in my case, past experiences made what I´m now.

Spending hours upon hours whining about a gay option in a video game is "sanity"?  Dude....

So spending many more hours demanding gay options in video games is sane? Wha?

BioWare has already stated that based on the data from DAO, there is significant enough demand for same-sex content.  Your opinion doesn't come across as "humble" , as you presume to know better than the developers.

Where did I claim my opinion was humble? In fact I see this as little more than political correctness run amok.

DA2 had a lot a flaws, but availability of all LIs to the player wasn't one them.  It made the game more interesting for more people.  Isn't that the point?  If all BioWare cared about is "realism", DA and ME would not exist at all.  You'd probably get another WW2 shooter instead.

Hawke-sexuals LIs were certainly one of DA2s flaws, not the largest for sure, but certainly among them.

Nobody is "entitled" to anything. You are not entitled to even more resources being spend on your "straight only" ME universe as you've insisted.

Never said I was. But it would certainly be wise of Bioware to focus on the majority of customers rather than forum complaints from the likes of Eronomos and yourself.

According to BioWare, they are making these games not for themselves and feedback from the fans is important to them.  That's what we've been providing and I am glad they've listened.

Of course you're glad. Doesn't mean everybody else should be however.

It's a matter of degree.   Judging by the amount of time you spend here, you seem pre-occupied with this OPTIONAL content in a video-game.  Perhaps your crusade isn't really about video games?

A matter of degree? Clearly you aren't very neutral in this regard are you? Do you think Bioware owes you something too?

Now this topic has gone into religion I see. People going to Virimire Ashley if she is "too Christian" for their tastes? Typical.

Nobody here says BioWare owes them anything.  Where did you get this from?  This is a fan forum, full of REQUESTS from fans.  The options to play a Female Shepard or a non-Caucasian Shepard could be dismissed as "political correctness".   The fact is every business should try to expand their client base and act on feedback from their existing clients, not just focus on the majority demographic.  The majority which, according to you, is entitled to all of BioWare's attention, while the rest of the fans should be ignored.  Talk about entitlement.

You've barely touched on my points at all.  Sounds like you are running out of steam.

I'm not sure why you brought it up in the context of an argument if you have nothing substantive with which to back up that statement.

I see you haven't met ReconTeam yet Arik7. He has some sort of vendetta against Gay Content in HIS Mass Effect. But it totally isnt homophobia. Oh no. Never that.

Basically the guy is a bit of a troll as near as I can tell. Troll's never try to have sensible debates or discussions.

EDIT:
The problem with Sexuality is that it is a broad term referring to more than what sex you find attractive. On the strictest terms ie what sex you find attractive IS a genetic factor.
The other parts of "sexuality" are influence by other factors such as environment and whatnot.

I am sure ReconTeam is just concerned over the use of BioWare's precious resources..... No anti-gay sentiments at all ;-)....
