Hello,
I just bought both ME1 and ME2 a while back during a steam sale, and I just finished mass effect 1 today. When I tried to start ME2, a steam window pops up and says "installing windows installer". After a while, my computer starts to lag and become unresponsive, and the process never seems to complete. This happens everytime i try to start the game. Any help with this would be appreciated.

ikilyou, it could be a corrupt download. Can you clear your Steam cache and redownload it to see if that can resolve the issue?
Also, if you are on Windows 7/Windows Vista, you may need to disable the User Account Control as this can sometimes cause connectivity/installation issues.
