Has anyone with the new sandwiching method had issues then? And damage?

I had my Alice Gliclee arrive in the same method as described. I just originally assumed because it was smaller it was done this way. I never ordered Garrus, so I can say this is a new way of packaging from Treehouse.
By taping the art down I guess it will stop any movement inside which causes many of the little dents as its moved around a lot during shipping. Although I did think the amount of tape was excessive especially as it covered the opening. So to get the picture out its wrapper I had to use a knife to delicately cut it away so I could open the product. That was annoying. However it came in perfect condition so cant complain at all.
It may look cheap, but from the sounds of it, it seemes to have worked.

Well the old packaging was better against bending and the new method helps the corners. My Alice one came this way and it worked due to size. My mini Team one though....
Really the old packaging seems better with the exception that the art just fit in it. if it were just a hair bigger the corners wouldn't crunch.

My Archangel was packed as described above, and it arrived in perfect condition...I don't know how they could have bent this box unless they were trying. Mine was pretty sturdy.
Also, I ordered mine on the second go-round and I got 123. It was surprising, but I'll take it considering I had the unfortunate luck of being on a bus all day that day.

I also had an Alice gliclee arrive in mint shape due to the new packaging, although my Archangel has yet to get here.

I feel for you, mine is a lot worse than that, it goes all the way through the lithograph in 2 places. On my litho, it was only taped vertically, and the poly bag had a ripped seam all down the right side so the lithograph slid out and got the right side corners all busted up too because there is so much more room to bounce around if that happens.

Here is the deal, guys: After MANY test runs and lots of research we decided not to use the poly corners, as they were damaging the items. This method of packaging is the same that galleries use all over the world, and we saw he least amount of damage possible in this method.
Fewer damages have been reported, so it seems to be working. If your box comes folded in half, I really do suggest talking to your delivery driver or calling your local post office, as we can only do so much to protect the items, and once in transit they are at the mercy of the shipper.
Hopefully as many people as possible will receive their lithos in great condition.

I was just wondering if taping something like this to the outside of the old packing would have protected the corners.

but then that has a frame around it, i would have thought softer materials would crease a lil inside. When being chucked around anyway

Seems like the corners are fine so long as the slip stays taped to the cardboard and doesn't rip, but the problem is bending...
I mean, if you're gonna ship it flat, there is always the possibility that it'll get bent during delivery. And that's not Treehouse's fault. There were like, three or four layers of cardboard around that thing. Even another layer of cardboard wouldn't prevent it from getting bent in the event something heavy falls on it...that's just physics. Unless they put it in a box and wrap it in layers upon layers of cardboard and bubble wrap, that's the risk. Even then, I have literally had a big box full of stuff which included a balsa wood model airplane kit that was beat up so bad that pieces of the kit, which was wrapped in ridiculous amounts of bubble wrap, were broken. It's all up to whoever delivers it to take care of it during transit. I know that's little comfort to those of you who have gotten bad creases.

Your right! I just got my new Litho in the post about 30 minutes ago!! The box was in a terrible state and clearly has been abused. You done your job your end and its the delivery people who are at fault.
Its got wet at some point which caused the whole thing to bend, You cant really make it out but theres a footprint just off centre as well. The edges have been bashed and creased. Needless to say Im expecting the litho to be in a horrible condition!!

However I opened it up and its in pristine condition. Not a single bend or crease anywhere. I been over looking over it a dozen times because I cant believe it!
Obviously some people have been really unlucky, but if my box can look like that and the Litho inside is in 100% condition then cheap cardboard is certainly better then most expect!

Footprint doesn't sound good, it's strange the people at the delivery company's don't take more care of things but I guess they are under hard time pressure sometimes...

I have to say that I am a fan of the new packaging. When I first saw it on my doorstep, I was a bit pissed as I was expecting it to be in horrible condition. Mangled corners, a few punctures. I thought there was no way it would have survived. When I discovered the cardboard beyond the litho though, I was really happy. There was no damage on it at all. The only problem I've ever had for shipping is bent corners, and this will take care of that. The tape could possibly be improved as I'm scared of damaging the litho getting it out, but overall, a huge improvement. Could be improved more by placing stiffer cardboard inside to discourage bending and distortion, which shouldn't be too hard. Worth an extra dollar or two for shipping.
My sympathy though for those with carriers who think it should be bent though. Do what you can to report it, you'll make future shipping better not only for yourself but everyone else as well.

I have had problems in the past with corner damage and I can say I am much more comfortable with this new shipping method than the old ones. My Archangel was packed with additional cardboad protection inside as well.

I finally got my Archangel litho and it's perfect, I hope they use this method in the future!
